I know this has been said before and was even pointed out to me by a friend but I just wanted to highlight a few things and parallels between Derrig and Orym.

The obvious being they’re both Air Ashari fighter battle masters and bodyguards to the Voice of the Temptest.

Both of their number one move is Goading Attack. While I haven’t seen most of C1 or anything related to it, watching C3, Orym uses this ALL the time. It’s the thing that gets him into trouble constantly. It’s the self sacrificing habit he can’t get rid of.

Now their outfits. Obviously there will be similarities in their outfits due to them both from the Air Ashari, having the same job, etc. but YALL. The circular shield. The sword strapped to the back. The baggy pants that are tight around the calf with the wrap around sash/belt. The asymmetrical armor/sleeves to highlight the tattoos on their right arms.

And speaking of tattoos: they are literally the sun and the moon. Derrig is the sun. And Orym (and Derrig’s son/Orym’s husband) are the moon. I was screaming and crying over this Thursday night. Sun and Moon. Big moon, Little moon.

In conclusion: I love Liam’s storytelling so much. The angst and deep love all wrapped in one really gets to me. Holy shit I love this show and the characters.

Reason why i like ashton: The fact that their rage come from being a poor, disabled, a gnc/nonbinary person falling throw the cracks of society is really realistic and interesting. And i love how they act like they don't care but his actions show that they care a lot.

Reasons why i like Orym: He is a little guy :D
