Genuinely asking, why do people want Lucas to be a worse character than he already is?

Obviously, I'm a Lucas fan, BUT that's because I love how he's written, I actually enjoy his flaws ...I think they make him very unique and more deep as a character, but I sometimes see people ( this is NOT targeted at anybody, genuine curiosity ) that purposefully add things to his character, usually him being a pedophile or groomer or what not, to make him worse... I don't understand what's behind that.

And, what's funny, is that most of the time it doesn't make sense to his lore whatsoever— because I'm such a big Lucas fan, I know a bit more than most about the dude and there is... To say the least, a lot of misunderstandings about him I feel and that's just because his story isn't really delved into much. We are seeing a bit of it now, but that's only with Charlotte... A lot has happened in his life and it's not really explored, which is unfortunate because it leads to stuff like that!

( Luther has also spoken a bit about it, but he's not a very reliable source for info. )

And I get headcanons and such, and, honestly? Headcanon what you want, I guess. I just don't understand it and would love to understand why people like to make him worse than he is, I don't think his actions should be underplayed OR overplayed— doesn't he do enough? HAHA...

Genuine curiosity, this isn't meant to be targeted or come off as mean... I've just noticed this throughout the years I've spent in this fandom and it's finally gotten me to ask.

So the "angel" Lucas saw was definitely Kiraba, right? My theory goes: Lucas and Luther were saved from death by Lady Kiraba (why?). Later, when Lucas' children (Katelyn, Gunther, Mattias) die in infancy, he's heartbroken and wants her help again to bring then back to life. But this time, her help comes at a price: his son as a vessel

I feel like Luther and Katarina bonded somewhere offscreen?

This scene got my attention because she almost seems to tense up when Tobias brings up how she and her husband met, then only slightly annoyed when Tobias clarifies. I’m thinking that Luther knows something about his mother that the rest of the characters don’t, and that’s why she tolerates him cuddling up to her like a little kid when he greets her. Maybe that’s why he calls her more regularly than Lucas does.

If I’m right, this bonding probably happened while Luther was still a teenager or a young adult. Maybe she stepped up when he was in his drug habit or something. She did go to the chief of police’s house when he got into trouble and I don’t doubt that she would have done something to help along his rehab.

I literally want to hear about Luther’s story post Holly, but all we’re getting is Lucas, Lucas, Lucas. Get him off my screen and give me someone else’s backstory. I would also love Katarina’s. /hj

This scene is really indicative of Katarina’s and Lucas’s relationship

When Lucas actually denied her and snuck out, I don’t think Katarina was really angry. I think she was actually proud of him for a moment. She’s stated repeatedly how she believes a real man makes decisions and sticks with them. It’s why she admires Luther and why Lucas never has her approval. That’s also why she hates her ex-husband, because he took her child and fled back to Germany like a coward, and the fact that he ditched Luther with her later probably didn’t help. When he changed his mind, when he turned and fled from his decision, he proved himself to be just like Ludwig. Further cementing in her mind that he’s growing up into Ludwig’s copy. I really want to know more of what happened between Katarina and Ludwig. Because the amount of self-hatred and hatred towards the world that Katarina harbors likely didn’t come from a single slight.

I can’t get over the fact that prim little Katarina canonically broke down a cop’s door to get her son back.

This tells us that number 1, Katarina actually cares about Luther enough to go protest his arrest and Luther and Katarina’s relationship is good enough that Luther felt safe to call her when he got arrested. I’m just imagining a scene of Katarina picking up the phone and Luther saying a few words to her before it cuts to her trying to catch a breaking and entering charge.

And number 2, Lucas knew about this, maybe because Luther told him but maybe through the grapevine, because I can’t see Katarina going “hey, I broke down Charlie’s door to get your brother back”. The second possibility is funnier, because if Lucas heard through other people around him, that means that Katarina is known around town as that mother who will break down your door if you mess with her children.

-Used to be one of those kids who showed up to school once in a blue moon because of everything going on in his life

-A slight case of chipmunk cheeks from all the throwing-up he’s been doing. Yellowish, eroded teeth. Can’t eat anything where he has to tear it first. A bad eater, anyway.

-Smells deceptively clean and sterile, like a hospital room before the patient is in it

-Has freckles and spots and dark hair everywhere. He’s thin skinned. His eye-bags are dark and enormous.

-Cuts his own hair. His parents can completely afford to send him to a barber, he just does it to make them mad. It’s not like he could get any uglier, right?

-That one kid that used to throw things at the teacher during class. Like, they’re just lecturing and then you see an eraser flying through the air. Also the kid that vomited during class and the janitor had to sprinkle that powder stuff all over it. Lots of parent-teacher meetings.

-Can’t eat anything that’s very acidic or spicy. He likes salty foods. He’s meant to be getting more vitamins and minerals but he doesn’t take them anyway.

i've been thinking very hard about this, and i've come to the conclusion that i can't do a ship ranking because i don't ship any pairings in Ghost Eyes. (i'm sorry,,,)

i'll give a shoutout to some dynamics i find interesting, whether platonic or otherwise:

♡ Carmelo and Tobias. i like that Carmelo is the straightman in their relationship (and in the series in general). and how much snark they have towards each other. they bounce off of one another really well.

♡ Tobias and Dwayne. a very intriguing rarepair indeed. i'm keeping my eye on this one.

♡ Rudolph and Emilio. they're just interesting. i can't really sum it up better than that without yapping for days. lol

Rudolph and Carmelo is pretty fun, too, sans all the bullying. this comic comes to mind:

my favourite character design… i'm biased towards Tobias. i like the way his eyes shine in the light and how his hairstyles change over the series. i'm usually not a fan of black hair, but he pulls it off in a cool, creepy way. i also like his dated fashion.

otherwise, Rudolph's hat is pretty iconic. his red irises draw attention to his eyes, which makes them look bigger and cuter, but also makes him look unsettling overall. and i like his hair.
