Hey! I don't know if I'm doing this right, and I'm just basically trying to reach you in different ways. My sister and I are big fans of your writing, and love your stories!! We especially loved the one withe the tiara and the giraffe!! We were hoping joy could do another one like that, where JD and Veronica have a family. Thanks!!
You’re doing it right! I assure you! And that’s so kind I am so flattered you like my work! You’re so sweet I wish I could give you a cookie! Sorry this took so long! I was dealing with some stuff and then it slipped my mind, but here it is! I hope you like it! And thanks so much for the kind words it means the world to me! Sorry this is a little out of season, but I had a dream about christmas last night so…. here we are
“I have presents for the kids!” Mac came running in through the door in a Santa hat. JD stopped Little Heather and Henry from running to whom they dubbed their “Aunt Mac”.
“Heather I told you not to go crazy this year.” He told her. “They’ve got enough junk they need to get rid of.” JD playfully bopped Henry on the head. But he was smiling all the same, happy to see how excited his kids got.
“Oh let them have their fun, they already gave so much to the toy drives.” Mac told him. JD sighed and laughed a bit, nodding. “Did you have fun this season?” Mac asked. She handed Henry a pink box and he nodded.
“We made friends at the toy drives and mom and dad says we can have them over for Christmas Eve dinner!” He said happily. “I gave one girl half of my Polly Pockets and we’re gonna play together from now on. It’s no fun playing alone and Heather never wants to play. She always makes her dinosaurs eat their heads off.” He complained.
“Polly needs more action! You should watch the ninja movies with me and dad!” Little Heather jumped on the table and struck a karate pose. “I met this other kid at the soup kitchen and they said they got no tv, so we came over here and watched movies together!” She smiled dreamily.
“Heather’s got a crush!” Henry teased.
“Shut up Henry!” Heather yelled, and jumped on her twin brother.
“Hey now, Aunt Mac worked hard to pick you kids out some gifts she thinks you’d like.” Veronica entered the room. “Now put stop fighting and fawn over her for a minute. It’s Christmas.” She ordered. The kids scrambled up and back to the gifts Mac had gotten.
“You can play with this with your new friend.” Mac spoke to Henry. He opened the pink box and smiled big when he saw a Polly Pocket dollhouse.
“I love it! Especially since dad broke my old one.” He pouted.
“I told you six times to put it away!” JD defended. “And you left it on the stairs and I stepped on it. I take no responsibility for that.” He bopped Henry on the head again and the child stuck his tongue out, giggling. JD pulled his son up to sit with him and they watched little Heather open her present. She let out a loud scream when she saw what it was.
“I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU GOT THIS!!!!” She yelled.
“I have never seen a six-year-old so excited over a science magazine…” Veronica lifted up the book and smiled. “She takes after her mother… I can’t wait till she goes to Brown.” Veronica smiled. She was hoping her kid would get into law, like she had, but she supported her either way.
“Mom! Dad! Look! This is the Smithsonian Institute ORIGINAL documentation of the space race with the Soviet Union leading up to Apollo 12!” Little heather flipped through the pages.
“How do you know all this stuff? I don’t even know any of this stuff!” JD shook his head. “And I should! I like, went to school and stuff.”
“My teacher tried to tell us that the United States sent the first man to space in history. But I told her she was wrong and the United States came in second to the Soviet Union, although they had more failed attempts.” Heather scoffed.
She was interrupted by the door opening and slamming. “Enough with nerdy stuff!” Chandler stepped in to greet the group for Christmas. “You’re aunty Chandler got you better gifts!” She cried, she entered the house uninvited and stepped past Mac. She handed the kids two boxes. They opened the lids and saw two matching dresses, Henry’s was pink and Heather’s was purple. “Well, what do you think?” She asked.
“Woah… Heather this is a lot.” Veronica and JD looked at them.
“Well it’s more of a gift for me, Duke and Mac.” Heather explained. “Did she not tell you yet?” Heather asked.
“I was waiting for you.” Mac explained. She then turned to face her friends. “My dad is retiring and leaving me the jewelry company! I’m making Heather and Heather my business partners!” Mac exclaimed.
“Heather that’s amazing!” JD congratulated. Veronica ran over and hugged her friend.
“But why the lavish dresses?” Veronica asked, looking over at her kids handling the expensive glittery fabric.
“Well there’s a big retirement party for my dad. And you know how rich business people are. It’s SUPER fancy.” Mac explained. “And of course we wanted you all there!” She smiled and reached out to hold JD and Veronica’s hands.
“But we thought if your kids dressed anything like their dad, they would need some new clothes.” Chandler explained.
“I love it!” Henry cried out.
“It’s so pretty!” Little Heather joined in. “We’re going to the party right?” She asked. The kids looked at their mom and dad eagerly and Veronica nodded.
“Of course, how could we ever miss it!” She cried, and hugged her two friends. “This is so amazing! For all of you!” She exclaimed. “Wait… where’d Duke?”
“Here!” A voice called, she was walking extremely slow with a big box. No wonder it took her so long to get here. “Okay kids! Open this now!” She said with some urgency. The kids got up confused and walked over to the box. It wasn’t wrapped and there were holes in the top. “Hurry up!” Duke clapped her hands. JD smiled and bit and looked over at Veronica, who was smiling too. They had been planning this with Duke for about a month.
The kids took the lid off and both cried out in joy. A pug dog poked his head out and yipped happily. “A puppy!” Little Heather cried.
“Do you like him?” JD asked.
“I LOVE HIM THANK YOU AUNT DUKE!” She screamed and ran over to hug the girl in green. Henry on the other hand was just sobbing by the box.
“Henry, why are you crying?” Veronica asked.
“He’s so cute!” Henry sobbed. The puppy licked his face. “I just already love him so much!” He cried and took the puppy in his arms to hug.
“He’s acting just like you when the kids were born.” Veronica nudged JD.
“You promised never to bring that up.” JD hushed her and she laughed, watching her kids dance around with joy at the new family member.
