An interesting entry from my grandmothers journal: 

“The final years before Richards death, he didn’t want interviews or any visits.  He told me he wanted people to remember what he was like when he was in his younger days.  I guessed it was because his features were not as sharp.  His eyes were not as animalistic, his cheekbones were fading, he almost looked like a different person.  In one of his last letters, he stated that he felt his time was coming to an end soon.  He said he wasn’t upset about it though.”
