16 years together <3
I got some anons too saying something or other about "uhh uhhh but you're a star trek blog you cant be anti c.ai!"
yes, I can. You are being Reginald Barclay rn, who no one liked, who was addicted to interacting with holo-people, who had ISSUES.
The first episode of Star Trek EVER, the Cage, follows the Talosians, a race of people who became so reliant on entertainment via the creation of illusion that they lost the ability to do ANYTHING for themselves in real life because the illusion was COMFORTING AND PREDICTABLE.
Don't play with me doodoohead I know more about star trek than you do
Should we start naming all the Trek episodes about the horrors of a society that allows a computer to run every aspect of their lives until they can no longer think for themselves?
Or perhaps episodes about how computers cannot replace people effectively and how devastating the consequences can be if you try?
Come at us.
a new issue of Logical Updates on Influential Public Figures just hit the stands.
thanks as usual to my copywriters @gay-spock, @thetimetostrikeislater, @twinkboimler and @crystal-mouse!
“imagine caring so much about fiction” imagine being so lame that you scoff at the timeless human practice of falling in love with art and stories
listen i am compelled by the aos rivals-to-lovers vision for spirk but one of the things i love most about their relationship in the original series is that they clearly just like each other so much. they aren’t fire-forged friends - they do go through a lot together but they were friends before that, from the very first scene of the pilot. there isn’t some big backstory for why they’re close bc it’s not really necessary. every indication is that they just met through work and connected bc they respect each other’s abilities and enjoy each other’s quirks and have fun hanging out playing 3d chess. they are soulmates not in the sense that they were destined to find each other or that they were brought together by something bigger but in the sense that they are really compatible and have similar values and worldviews and they were able to recognize that in each other. and i just think that’s neat!!!
Spock’s autistic ass getting factory reset in the search for spock only to come back n be taught swear words and indulge in his special interest (whales) Kirk was stressed as hell
spock when it’s his turn to top

you say “idk if you did this already” as if this is something that would naturally occur to me
