deltarune releases on june 24th, today!! that means we're 100% of the way from the date announcement to the release!

originally, i calculated a 2.7971% chance of the game releasing today. that's 10.21% higher than an average day estimate of 0.2739%.

my estimation had the most optimal day for release being july 1st, which is seven days off from the actual release date. that's pretty impressive, i gotta say!

THE SUN IN THE CHAPTER 5 TRAILER

ITS IN A DARK WORLD

The sun, a source of light, in the dark world feels contradictory, doesn't it?

It's probably a reference to fleetingness. After all, the sun was setting, with the darkness of night about to show up. It may represent deltarune stopping being a "silly RPG" as the more dark and somber parts of the story starts to show more.

Maybe the dark world was in the open air, so that's why the sun is out, and we'll maybe get to see more lightner's dark world designs when other people discover it? Or is it just near a window facing the sun?

Papyrus WILL appear in chapter 5. Papyrus WILL show up at the festival. Papyrus WILL prove to the fandom that he's more than a hollow joke or an "innocent cinnamon roll" or just straight up overlooked. Papyrus WILL be significant I'm TELLING YOU.

Papyrus being missing so far in Deltarune WILL be significant. His casual breaking of physics and constant hints and mentions of how powerful he is in Undertale WILL also be a thing in Deltarune.

What if, in the future chapters of the snowgrave route, the player soul ate/assimilated/absorbed Noelle's soul in order to control her completely (and maybe even get stronger itself)?

As for Kris, they'd be consumed by guilt at not being able to do anything about this, but also somewhat glad that the soul is gone.

They're freed from it's control at the horrible price of Noelle being controlled instead, and them being left abandoned, soulless and "used up".

An idea on how to make humans in your fantasy story less boring

Make them unsettling.

Consider this, humans look very similar to a lot of classic fantasy races except for slightly different facial proportions and heights. Now imagine if that causes them to have an uncanny valley-like reaction to seeing a human face.

And then you can add some worldbuilding surrounding that concept like "the idea of changelings came from elves making first contact with humans and assuming these strange folk that are Almost Like Us and came from the woods are fae" or what that would mean for how humans are treated

Something I find interesting about TADC

Kinger said in episode 8 that conjuring only comes naturally to Caine, probably because he's a creative AI

But pomni was able to conjure an exit in the pilot, when she had literally just joined the circus

Caine says in episode 8 that humans aren't relatable sculpting materials, and then says that pomni is the relatability they're looking for

Which could all mean nothing

And before you get on my ass about this, I know gooseworx said that none of the main cast are ai, but she's also known to lie, so who really knows?

I personally really dislike it when cosmic horror stories end with a mortal character (or characters) ending up killing or sealing the cosmic horror. It always makes the horror itself seem so weak and pathetic. The feeling of helplessness against the horror itself and the realisation of just how much humans are beneath it is what makes it scary for me, so it just feels trivialising. Like why were we intimidated by this thing if one guy can just show up and deal with it just like that? At that point it's basically just what dragons have become in most media, a big animal someone has to put down. Like where's the spice?

But bubble totally doesn't have that much lore significance, they're only a joke character, don't worry about it! /S

This is gonna sound so insane but

Rouxls kaard deltarune is totally far more powerful than he appears, and I think he might be the delatrune equivalent of sans (a "joke" character that's secretly incredibly powerful)

Is able to spontaneously appear in any dark world he wants (the only other character to do this is the walking mystery, Ralsei)

Clearly faking a silly accent, we see him drop it sometimes as well

Makes bad puzzles on purpose to make himself seem unassuming and stupid?

he looks exactly like Gaster but with hair, you reverse his colours and they're practically identical

Pretty much the only character to have his hands in his talk sprites. ("Beware the man who speaks in hands")

Literally controls the rules of the game. (changes the battle buttons, something only Undertale asriel and asgore were able to do, hints towards ridiculous power levels)
