Don’t you get it? This tiny thing trusts you. It wants to help you too. It licks your leg thinking that it’s helping. It kneads on you to find comfort. It shares its body warmth with you in the cold and gives you your space in the heat. It hisses at other mammals it sees outside including other cats in an effort to protect its family.

Cats love you so so much. But they will keep trying to eat plastic.

the idea that restrooms, locker rooms, etc need to be single-sex spaces in order for women to be safe is patriarchy's way of signalling to men & boys that society doesn't expect them to behave themselves around women. it is directly antifeminist. it would be antifeminist even if trans people did not exist. a feminist society would demand that women should be safe in all spaces even when there are men there.

tw drug use, death

a girl I was semi-close to died of a drug overdose less than a year ago. my fiance was actually a lot closer to her, but she had moved a few hours away so we didn’t really see her much any more. But she loved Stitch from Lilo and stitch and pokemon, especially Epsion/Umbreon,

her shit-ass narc mom took over her facebook and refused to memoralize it - she just makes updates almost role-playing as her daughter talking about the things she liked and posting pictures of her. Her narc mom also unfriended me so I can only see public posts and can no longer see our friendship

anytime i see pokemon go eevee stuff i think about how she would have gotten it and been so excited to evolve it, and whenever I see Lilo and Stitch stuff I just get... ugh I feel like I could have done more, that if she’d had more good people in her life she wouldn’t have ended up dying on the floor of a trap house slowly while everyone ignored her

yes, bi women are so nurtured and validated and rewarded! that’s why they experience the highest rates of IPV when broken down by sexuality. men looooove nurturing and validating them. in fact bisexual women and cishet men host meetings every month to calculate how much patriarchal and capitalist power they’ll hold together. when marx wrote das kapital he said that the b in bourgeoise stands for bisexual women and the s in bisexual stands for surplus value. stay woke.

I don’t think Bi Women being pushed to only date men by a homophobic society that wants us to reject our love for women is at all nurturing or encouraging or validating or rewarding.

And there are lots of women for whom this pressure is incredibly overwhelming and hurtful. Lots of bi women who want to be with women and date them or just act on their attraction to other women feel like their attraction to men taints their attraction to women or makes their relationships with men inevitable. And this can be really hurtful (it was for me).

Even when we do date men life isn’t always beer and skittles when our boyfriends and husbands punish us for simply existing. I have seen so many testimonials from bi women saying once they came out to their boyfriend/husband that their partners “no longer trust them” and assume their girlfriends won’t be satisified in the relationship and will cheat. But they stay bc “it’s not that bad” or some other reason. And it’s really sad TBH.

Bi women are pushed to date men and lots of bi women do for a variety of reasons including, it’s easier to find men to date than women.

It’s really not as clear cut as “bi women’s attraction to men is nurtured” and while it is encouraged, that’s not always a good thing.
