My Story After October 7: Surviving the War in Gaza
My Story After October 7: Surviving the War in Gaza
We were living a happy and peaceful life in our home in the city, but everything turned into a nightmare when the war began. Our lives changed forever we lost our house and now live in a tent on the street, without the basic necessities of life: no water, no electricity, no clothing, and no food.
During the Israeli aggression on Gaza, we went through unimaginably difficult circumstances. We were displaced multiple times, losing everything along the way. Our home was completely destroyed and burned down, leaving us with nothing. It felt as if we were born again, stripped of all possessions no clothes, no bed to sleep on. The Israeli bombardment never stopped, and we lived in constant terror.
Among the many precious things we lost, the most painful was our sense of safety and peace. The intense bombing surrounded us everywhere we fled. The days passed with great difficulty, and finding work to earn money was impossible especially since my family consists of many children with significant needs.
My Story After October 7: Surviving the War in Gaza
Displacement robbed us of our stable and enjoyable life. My children suffered greatly during the war, falling ill multiple times, and their psychological state deteriorated due to being deprived of their education and the joy-filled life they once had. They lost all their belongings computers, electronic games things that meant the world to them. All their cherished memories vanished in an instant.
My Story After October 7: Surviving the War in Gaza
will never forget the day we escaped. We passed through dangerous areas, just meters away from Israeli tanks and soldiers. We were terrified, especially the little ones. We fled for our lives, spending hours under the rain in the freezing cold. That night, we had no shelter and had to sleep on the street.
