@gc-zane
I don't understand why trans people are like the only community where not agreeing with the ideology surrounding them is considered bigotry towards them.
like as a homosexual person, if someone said that they don't believe homosexuality is one coherent category because of stuff like trans people, identities, surgeries etc, but they respected my right to only be attracted to people who fit my definition of 'woman' and identify as a lesbian.
...fine?
Maybe i'd think they're a little dumb, but if they were standing next to me on gay marches and feminist marches I'd be like yeah #ally. I wouldn't really consider this kind of person a homophobe
If trans women would just acknowledge that they're men who alter themselves to look like women, in order to ease dysphoria, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
I'm all for men wearing skirts. I'm all for men enjoying whatever stereotypically feminine things they enjoy. I'll even support medical transition, provided you're over eighteen, understand the health risks, and have faced persistent dysphoria.
The problem is that they've redefined "woman" to be a feeling. I can no longer use "woman" to discuss the tangible reality of having a female body. Presenting as women isn't enough for them, they have to be women.
Not only does this erode my ability to discuss sex-specific issues, but it leads to self-identification policies that allow men into female-only spaces. Female-only spaces that were created because of the physical threat men pose to women.
I was accused of "driving a shiv between cis and trans women," when I tried to discuss how cis women, face different issues from trans women. I didn't even say that trans women aren't women, but acknowledging a difference at all was enough to elicit hostility. (Their follow-up sentence was, "Someone should drive a shiv through you.")
My issue with the trans movement isn't dysphoric individuals trying to feel comfortable, but the denial of how biology impacts our lives.
Saw a transwoman babysitting a kindergarten kid.
so? Good for her. Gay/Gnc/Trans-Identified people do not need to be treated like predators regardless of whether or not i agree with gender
So apparently Iowa removed civil rights protections for trans people in housing, employment, education, etc. Call me insane, but I cannot figure out why there is seemingly no middle ground in public opinion or policy between âbiological sex isnât real, 10 year olds should be allowed to medically transitionâ and âno civil rights protections for trans people.â Why is NO ONE being reasonable about this issue. We are never going to get anywhere if the only two accepted positions are both bonkers. This is so bad.
Thats crazy shit.
Out of curiosity, if a number of well-done, peer-reviewed studies concluded that brain sex was actually a real thing, to the point that your brain can have a blueprint for how it's body should be, and your body not matching that blueprint caused immense distress, would any radfems change their opinions regarding trans issues?
?
I would fully support trans ideology
I would support social transition but not medical transition
I would support physical transition but not social
I would not support trans ideology
other- leave in comments
I would support like 80-90% of trans ideology, and i'm pretty surprised that most people wouldn't.
If brain sex was real then yeah. Like the brain is the main organ I consider. If you had a 'female' brain, i'd consider you female and vice versa.
I support body mods anyway, with appropriate vetting, and especially if medical specialists decided it was the best possible solution. then yeah.
Just a very friendly reminder that radical feminism would be incomplete without gender critical theory. There is no such thing as a âtrans-inclusive radical feministâ and anyone who calls themselves that isnât a radfem.
There are quite a few new âradical feministâ accounts popping up, claiming to be trans-inclusive with some having posts clearly being written with ChatGPT. I personally think this is an attempt to either influence our opinions and or invade our spaces. It would be best to not interact with these accounts. Donât like, comment, reblog or report whatsoever. Even if you are going to call them out. Donât give them an audience.
you can be gender critical without being explicitly trans exclusionary (even though trans people may not think so). of course we are radical feminists and want to abolish gender, but that doesnât mean itâs top priority to belittle transgender people or identity, who are merely a symptom of the problem of widespread gender ideology (aka modern gender roles and gender hyperfocus in society). they are misled and ignorant, and brainwashed down to the core with gender propaganda. not some new conspiracy, but old gender propaganda.
iâve said this several times and iâll say it until the lamb eats the fucking lion: the main problem is gender ideology. not the undercover way of saying trans ideology, actual gender ideology. the one spread by iron-age religions, modern gender performance, conservatives, advertisements, movies, media, clothing stores, books, music, little misogynistic sayings that make you want to bash your head in. the ones so old you can find them in hieroglyphs. the stereotypes and expectations of women and men based off nothing but what they do with their genitals. the propaganda of the man coming first and the woman being his offshoot, the propaganda of the male warrior and the female scavenger. THATâs the problem that we radical feminists aim to dismantle, that bullshit and all of its little disgusting offshoots. and while trans ideology is one of its biggest offshoots, weâre nowhere NEAR close to dismantling the big problem enough for focusing on trans ideology to matter much at all. have some goddamn strategy. this is a biblically accurate angel of hatred and discrimination, not just a few one-headed beasts.
black and white thinking will kill radical feminism long before the evil trans woman âswinging her dick in your faceâ (existing in front of you) does. focus on the task at hand. we must kill the heart of gender first.
i know this is just a meme, but it still made me incredibly sad. imagine living in a world where even the most basic human activities like eating get sexualised ... well, we donât even need to imagine, as women weâre already living this shit.
Only a deeply misogynist society would enshrine the ideals that womanhood can solely be defined by a feeling in a manâs head, but cannot be solely defined by womenâs biology, our lived realities (and oppressions) faced by being female sexed.
Radblr, we need to stop defending gay men. They fetishize our bodies by calling their anus "pussy" and yet turn around and call bodies disgusting
They try to claim sisterhood so they can use slurs against us
They go over seas and exploit womens wombs for their picket fence fantasy
Stop caring about these men because at the end of the day they're men who exploit us just the same
I mean lesbians do the same thing calling straps/fingers etcâŠtheir dicks like-I def hear you Gay men are men and can be misogynistic and ultimately feminism needs to be about women but I think some gender/sex bending terminology is just kind of normal for same sex sexuality. I think there is some unintentional homophobic assumptions underlying your statement that comparing a sex organ that one receives pleasure from penetrating to another sex organ popularly understand to recieve pleasure from penetrating (anatomically though obviously women receive pleasure from the clitoris) is designed as an insult. Anal sex is not âdisgustingâ and itâs entirely natural for gay men to find womenâs bodies disgusting. I find men disgusting and myself and my lesbian friends are very vocal about it!! Totally natural, totally normal.
And tbh I donât just think gay men âclaim sisterhoodâ to use slurs-they mostly do it because straight men treat them pretty bad and they identify with us. Again, it doesn't mean your points about structural patriarchy or surrogacy are without merit but I would really suggest you educate yourself more on how same sex sexuality manifests for other people (even if youâre straight or a wlw who isnât into it) before suggesting that gay men are bad for just being gay people.
Im critical of all men but as a butch, other homosexual or gnc people usually have far more in common with me than someone telling me gay men suck.
Thatâs not gender noncomforming.
Thatâs just a decent man.
Yeah, I feel this isn't what the gnc label is for.
your feminism isn't valid if it includes TIMs.
my main priority is female liberation but I also appreciate the nuances of the real world, and am tolerant to transwomen, and appreciate that their struggles are the product of the system I wish to overhaul. This does not make my feminism invalid jfc.
one thing i dont think we talk enough about is how pretty much every sex ed resource for lesbian teens tells them they should be open to sex with male partners
i remember being 14/15 and googling how lesbian sex worked and just being confronted with site after site telling me that lesbian sex sometimes includes a penis and it was uninclusive and closed minded to think otherwise :)))
i guarantee you no girl or woman searching for lesbian sex ed resources is looking for advice on how to blow a guy or have piv intercourse, theyre looking for advice about sexual relationships between biologically female partners
i think people underestimate how ashamed and broken it made me and other lesbians feel to read that over and over. after reading those resources i felt so hopeless that i tried to force myself to be asexual because it was the only socially acceptable way to rule out having a male partner
constantly adding these ~helpful reminders~ is like telling lesbians that they just haven't met the right guy yet, and there is no context in which they should forget it
some of these were government affiliated websites insisting that exclusive homosexuality didnt exist, or at the very least that it was unthinkable and unpeakable
its a very impactful and insidious form of homophobia
oh my dayssss why are we doing
'its bad for lesbians to not be attracted to dicks'
again.
Dude. I love trans identified people (despite being gender critical) but at some point you gotta draw a line.
I think that line is complaining that lesbians like strap and not dick.
Listen, not to be a male-hating bitch or whatever but trans women are not 'banned from the olympics'
Trans women CAN at any point enter and compete in any sporting discipline.
Just not in the protected female category.
Trans women CAN compete in the Olympics
Men are allowed in sports, I am not.
Men are not V coded, I am.
The average man never gets raped, I've been sexually harrased plenty.
Men get paid more than cis women, I get paid less than both.
Whether you're my greatest ally or my biggest hater, there is not a single person on this earth who genuinely thinks I am a man. Everyone knows I'm a woman who can be tormented freely.
Why are TRAs so obsessed with this fantasy.
YOURE ALLOWED IN SPORTS. You just can't compete in the special category for women. You can go to men's sports. ALL trans people can compete in men's sports.
V-Coding is a process by which trans women are raped, so technically yes, that is something that differs you because the word specifically only includes you. Men in general ARE raped/assaulted in men's prisons at an alarming rate cause thats what your kind (males) do.
Most queer/gay/gnc men do get raped and sexually harassed. You're confusing gnc/trans/homophobia for being a woman.
Yeah incredibly gnc people do tend to earn less than their socially acceptable counterparts. Still doesn't make you a woman.
You're a man who lives in a society that hates you for your feminine inclinations and desire to be a woman, both of which are valid. But we still all see you as a gnc and marginalised man. But still a man
Sex is why women are opressed
Gender is how
