“Not a man who’s used to getting a taste of his own medicine, are you?”
Still, the grin he returns is every bit as genuine as Pembroke’s own. Humans are so unbearably cute, sometimes, with their overly expressive faces and the way their body temperature wildly fluctuates when they get excited. They’re as easy to read as a book, and perpetually in denial.
“The teeth aren’t just for show, sweet thing.” He leans to hiss his words into the other’s ear, before giving that vulnerable point a gentle nip while his arm snakes back around his middle. “My people are meat-eaters, y’know. We’re downright ravenous.”
He’s happy to follow, happy to walk and enjoy the cool air contrasted against the beacon of warmth beside him. It’s a simple sensation that reminds him, in all its instant familiarity, of home.
“So, you’ve been stuck in this place for a while?”
He just keeps doing it! He could feel his heart fluttering! What a weird response. He’s had crushes before but usually they don’t pay him any mind. Maybe once or twice it’s happened in the past. Those who indulged Pembroke’s flirting had a strange crush develop after the fact.
“Oh you know how they say, treat people the way you wanted be treated,” Pembroke replied, almost through gritted teeth. Gods be damned he would love to take Gharet here. He by no means minded a quick one in literal public within reason, after all he’s done that in alleyways, a fucking dumpster and abandoned train yard. Calm yourself, you fool!
He had to steady his breathing but the grin never left his face. “We have something in common. Similar appetite. Sharp teeth and sharp claws are right up my alley, I always did enjoy the chase.” He chortled softly, now daring to be bold (why wasn’t he before? That damned crush daring him to be shy? Hah! As if...) and wrapped an arm around Gharet’s waist, hooking his thumb just under the band of his pants but going no deeper.
“Been here, done that, left and came back. I’ve roamed around here for awhile, had my self destructive binges. I know the places that at least taste good but for the decency to leave a neat place in tact, I’ve left Cotes Ward alone. And you? Sounds like you haven’t been here long yet, dear heart.”

⦑ RECENTLY as far as you can recall. Good enough as a measurement for a fake thing. Making life hard for cops is valid no matter when it happened. ⦒
At least he tried to make small talk first. He takes his time, taking the cigarette, lighting it with the flick of the finger, taking a long drag and hissing the smoke out his nose, all to pretend he’s thinking about it.
⦑ Starting to think I do do better as a part of a pair. At least, a loose one, but I’m not in any rush to search. No, I’m not seeing anyone. Why do you ask, Pembroke? ⦒
*:・゚☆
“Nice, nice,” Pembroke nodded, grinning as he pulled a second cigarette out. He played with it first for awhile, thinking about how better cigars were, or better yet, a joint. Then he wondered what would happen if he had went into a rage state while higher than a kite. He smirked, taking a match and striking it against his rough beard.
“I’m getting into the habit of askin’ folks before I try pursuin’ again. Ain’t afraid of bein’ a homewrecker mind you, but sometimes a guy would like a little success in his life,” Pembroke replied, chuckling softly until the match actually flared to life and he lit his cigarette. What a trick. He grinned at that, it was something of a 20% success chance!
“Not that I’m lookin’ for a stable relationship! Commitment scares the shit outta me. Heh, fear and Pembroke in the same sentence? Now that’s the joke. Besides, it’d be a shame to see you taken off the market. I missed your radiance.”

All she’d wanted was a nice snack for the hyenas. Instead, she’d come face to face with a giant lizard and honestly it was the coolest thing she’d seen all day.
Perhaps things were getting out of hand, crazy if you will, even by her standards. She was all for chaos and destruction, absolutely, but this beauty was going to get caught by the zoo or something and she couldn’t let that happen.
Distraction time– something she was very good at.
“Heeey, cute giant lizard thingy!” She waved her hands to get his attention. “D’ya wanna play? I got a real fun game for us!”
Whenever someone tries to stop Karma from being well... Karma, a wild beast, it usually ends bad. In general, it usually means they try and actually stop him and when someone flags him down well... Karma dropped the lights from the cop car, head turned slightly to the side to watch the lady with red and was it blue? Was it black? Guess color didn’t matter, he still watched her. Ignoring the shouts behind him, angry people did not matter in his grand schemes of really just chasing down anything that moved.
Fine, he’ll bite(metaphorically speaking), he still had enough intelligence to understand what she’s asking of him. He picked up his stolen car lights, chewing on them, glass splintering with each grind, he approached with a curious sniff in her direction. The shouts still happened.
fightforanswers
A spark of mischief follows the realization his idea works–the laser-light dances over the ground, forever staying just out of Karma’s reach in the most infuriating manner possible. He can’t stop himself from giggling when the beast slams his face into the concrete, his fear of being chewed on immediately dissipating.
“Where did you come from?” he wonders, out of genuine curiosity. This can’t be a native lifeform, surely? But why would the captors bring such a dangerous animal into Spirale? “What are you?”
Pathfinder would happily stay and play with his new friend until he grew bored, but, he knows he should be responsible and try to lead him away from other potential victims. He starts to walk along the rooftop, hoping the vicious creature will continue to follow the light.
For a little while, Karma chased the red light. Anything to chase, right? He’s as happy as a cat until it got boring, when he couldn’t catch it or it finally caught up to him that this wasn’t real. This hasn’t happened yet and time simply ticked down for him. The noise (talking?) caught his attention though and as he kept one orange eye on the red light, he followed Pathfinder’s movements up ahead. It wouldn’t be difficult to follow him on top of buildings, he could climb, but by then his hopeful new chew toy would have run off to another building.
Probably. Maybe. Karma growled. He bit into the side of the building, jaws crunching into the brick and concrete until he pulled a mouthful. Promptly, he swallowed, growling all the while. He bit into the same spot again, hellbent on eating the building out from under Pathfinder.
“DOWN.”

gcdeaterr liked your post “EDGAR is back and dbhif hilgg who knows HOW he is feeling about being…”
@gcdeaterr
Not someone he wanted to see. He doesn’t like the fact that Pembroke is actually back. He doesn’t LIKE the fact that the man is standing right there, with that STUPID smile of his.
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey, isn’t thay the guy that calls you babycakes or somethin’? He’s cool, I like him. Like him a lot!
No. Stop talking.
I’m just sayin’ that he’s a coooool guy.
Edgar wonders if he should acknowledge the man or just…go back doing what he was doing, which wads actually nothing.
Yeah, you’re not doing jack shit so say hi! You need friends. Why not make friends with someone who’s reeeeeaaaal COOOOL!
The scream is like a scream in the ear. It’s enough loudness to usher out an annoyed look from Edgar. It’s already too late. Pembroke probably sees that Edgar sees.
“What are you doing here?”
Geez…..
And there he was. The person he’d been missing since he woke up here yet again. Shame they didn’t live together, he hadn’t even tried to go home and see who his new room mates were. They wouldn’t hold a candle to this little bastard though, oh how he missed messing with him.
“Oh you know,” Pembroke replied, leaning against the wall and smiling down at Edgar. “Back in the same old painless prison. Where’d you run off to? Manage to wiggle your way outta here like I did? Missed your grumpiness.” He practically purred that last part.
gharetospal
“Maybe, maybe not. I guess that’s for me to know and you to find out, sweetheart.”
After a quick scan to make sure they’re alone, he finally closes the gap and wraps an arm around Pembroke’s waist. He nuzzles into the man’s neck, grazing first teeth and then tongue over bare skin before abruptly releasing him. He’s not done toying with him just yet.
"You can call me Gharet. Why don’t we get some drinks,” which he doesn’t plan on drinking, “and you can continue your adorable attempts to seduce me in a more flattering location than this?”
Oh? Oh! Oh my, Pembroke didn’t know how to feel at his own words being thrown back at him followed up by a bold move he would have made as soon as he recognized an understanding between each other. He couldn’t help but feel thrilled. Absolutely astonished and immediately smitten. Damn he fell hard for this guy real fast, it was almost embarrassing. Almost. If Pembroke even had a shred of shame of which... He did not.
“Oh ho ho ho, I see,” Pembroke replied, running a hand over his neck, by no means hiding that stupid grin plastered to his face. He’s going to enjoy this. “Adorable? I’m just bein’ nice, dear heart. If we’re bein’ so bold here, by all means.” He tilted his head back, looking Gharet up and down, his grin did not leave his face (damn you really are that touch starved, aren’t you?).
“I know a place. We can get to know each other more there.” He jerked his head in one direction, starting off, (that stupid stupid grin still there) and he decided. “Teeth sharper that mine. Damn that’s a steal.” (Oh his voice sounded too impressed. You’re fucked, Pembroke.)
gharetospal
“I wouldn’t say every night… I like to sleep sometimes.”
He scratches his jaw, before exhaling a short, surprised laugh at the other’s words. “I’ll be real with you, I have no idea what an Irish is–and, not gonna give me your name first? Shame on you, doggy.”
“You start callin’ me that I’m gonna start assumin’ you like it doggy-style, big guy,” Pembroke replied, with a grin. Maybe once upon a time he’d take offense to it, but time is short and he could spend it kissing on this guy instead of getting angry about it.
“Take it as a thrill then. The name’s Pembroke, but you can call me whatever you’d like.”
gharetospal
“There’s another reason I’m single–it’d be cruel to take myself off the menu.” He grins, all sharp, serrated teeth. “Don’t take it too hard. You never know when your luck is about to improve.”
Oh baby...
“I absolutely agree. What’s the point if you can’t have fun every night?” Like you do, Pembroke? Does getting drunk every night to fill the void count as fun? And then... “Never do. Ever been kissed by an Irish wild dog?”
gharetospal replied
“You’re that bad of a flirt, eh?”
“Not at all! It’s just I have bad luck and keep choosin’ the ones already spoken for. Luck ain’t on my side at all.”
“Everyone beautiful. Buuuut I can name a few who stand out from the crowd. Only think one of ‘em tolerates me though.”
“Oooh gettin’ the unreciprocated love tingles.”
direheterosis
This, this looked like a good boy.
“Oh? What art thou chasing? Dost thou want to chase? I could play with thee.”
What is this? Why is it so... Tall.
Well he was gonna chase the poor fool on the bike but if she was gonna be so polite about it...
“RUN!”
melanconici
God dammit. Is this guy dense or arrogant? Abbacchio maintains his glare for a long, quiet moment, though he realizes that the typical deterrents likely won’t work against this one.
He’s really not in the mood to deal with this shit. Charming though Pembroke may try to be, he isn’t really here to talk. “That,” he says irritably, “is just as bad.” He glares for a few more seconds before returning to his drink.
At this rate, he won’t be making it past this one glass at all. Oh well. There’s better things to do, after all–not spend the evening drinking and certainly not dealing with this.
Both, Abbacchio. Pembroke is both. He held his glare with that shit eating smile of his, patient as ever. He could keep this up all night. If he won’t get laid, that’s fine, pestering someone as pissed off as this strange who has yet to give him a name works just a well. He made it his business to be a thorn in the side of people. It’s his charm, sometimes it grew on people. Sometimes. It’s fine, he made it his business to be unlikable.
“You’re gonna have to settle for one or the other, sweetheart. You still haven’t given me a name and trust me, I have nothin’ but time on my hands. Well... Until I hit that alcohol poisoning. It’s fine though.” Another swig. “Smells like brandy.”
“Brandy and bad decisions.” One more swig from his ever draining bottle. His tolerance... God damn his tolerance. “The name’s Pembroke. You spoken for?”
