The Night before Tomorrow

There are nights when we dread the morning, as if the coming sunrise spells doom and the end of the world has come. I won't lie to you I'm still fucking scared of this new year. I know it's gonna be awesome but the challenges that I've already thought of is making me psycho.

In times like these, being alone is the worst. Good 'ol Calvin there has Hobbes. But what if we don't have our own stuffed animal (y'know what I mean)? Who do we turn to for comfort or that sense of assurance? I'm aware that it might be better if we talk to someone about what we're feeling. But sometimes, we just have to take it and experience it. We can't be afraid of facing what is to come. Calvin and Hobbes - my absolute favorite comic strip, shows us how a partner/best friend can get us past this emo moment. But it also tells us in another way, especially to non-children readers that we are already adults and that we kinda have to figure things out on our own sometimes. Yes, sometimes, and that means that unless we suddenly die in our sleep, we are bound to get better at some point. I have endured and survived shitty times, and I'm sure the people reading this post has done the same. For all we know, in the future we might look back and just say - "Hey, that wasn't so bad"

It's not the end of the world and maybe someday we'll find our Hobbes. Hope you have a good night's sleep :)

Welcome To My New Life

It's the first day of the year and it signals a new beginning. The new year somehow gives us what we call a 'fresh start', but it doesn't mean that we should forget the past. Well, for me, how could I just simply put the past year aside -- in the words of Ezio Auditore, Requiescat In Pace 2013, you will forever be ethced in my geeky brain.

Some of you might wonder what I've been through, what I have become in the years of my existence. The tears. The laughter. The ups and downs. The reason why I started this so called blog-thingy in tumblr. The simple explanation is that I just want to start something new, even though I'm not really new in the idea of blogging, since I'm part of a geek site in the Philippines (who and what my position in that group is for you to find out. LOL.).  Another thing is that 2014 fucking scares me. I know it's gonna be an adventure, and I'm willing to share it with you guys. And I'm really looking forward to whatever's gonna happen in this year like how Luke Skywalker looked at the binary sunsets at Tatooine - with determination and conviction.

I'm a geek. I'm old but not that old. I live in the eastern side of the world, where people on the other side think that our place is just made up of farms, mountains and sand. I'm like everybody else, who have real-world problems. I can be boring. I'm in a cocoon waiting to pop out as a dragon-like creature. I can be crazy. I'm a wannabe writer. I aspire to achieve great things and make a difference. 

Welcome to my world -- Geek of the East. This is my new life and I sincerely hope that you like whatever I write here. It may inspire and entertain or just fuck you up. 'Cause honestly, it ain't easy being geeky. But it sure is fun.
