My “Just Breathe” dress came together beautifully for DragonCon last year. It was not easy and there are some things I wish I’d noticed earlier so I could fix but she’s still awesome. I even recreated her Glass Slippers!

Finished my Book of Hamunaptra just in time for DragonCon! Got a couple professional shots made as Evelyn Carnahan. :)
Felt great to be my Jedi and Jyn Erso again today at a big photoshoot. It’s been too long.
After A LOT of tears and frustration I am finally Rebel Legion approved!
I have also started working on Cara Dune from The Mandalorian and will be going for Rebel Legion approval.
I am making The Book of Hamunaptra from The Mummy to go along with my Evelyn “I’m a Librarian” Carnahan for DragonCon.
I’m using a USPS shipping box as the base. After cutting all the sides off I measured how much overhang I wanted and trimmed them to fit. Next step will be covering it with black craft foam.
I made my oldest Willy Wonka for Halloween and here are both of them at one of our events!
A few more pics from DragonCon and our World of Warcraft photoshoot.
My 8 year old wanted to be Ash Ketchum from Pokemon this year for Halloween. So on to the internet and YouTube to get some ideas. This is what I ended up deciding on. I had it made in a couple of hours.
I got blue and white polos from Walmart. I had the yellow ribbon and I ordered the hat and gloves from a seller on Etsy.
I started by cutting the front center of the shirt open and cutting off the buttons/button holes. Then I cut the sleeves off of both shirts, turning the blue shirt inside out, and pinning the white sleeves (right side out) into the arm holes. I stitched it all with white thread. Blue would work, too.
Here it is turned right side out.
Next I cut the collars off both shirts and pinned the white one into the blue shirt as shown. I stitched this with white thread as it would be more visible.
Next I pinned and hemmed the front edges that I’d cut open. I’ll iron the collar so it lays flat later.
The last thing I did was pin and stitch on yellow ribbon around the bottom and to create fake pockets. Then I cut a small tab from the left over blue and made the small tab near the collar. I cut two small yellow circles and glued them on with fabric glue. Done!
Here’s a picture of Ash for reference. I’m really pleased with the finished jacket and my son can’t wait to wear it while carrying his stuffed Pikachu!
Hope this is helpful for someone!
Because I can’t leave well enough alone I’m remaking Jaina’s staff. 3D printed parts and lightweight tubes instead of wood and Worbla. It’ll light up!!
