However, that was actually last year's fest that had been postponed due to your favourite mod finishing her degree and also the whole pandemic-thing, which you might have heard about. Now, however, 'Finish that Fic, Merlin' is back at its regular schedule which is from November 1st to March 31st. Sign ups are already open right here on Livejournal, although you don't need an actual Livejournal account to sign up, only a Google account.

If you don't feel like writing, but still want to participate, you can sign up as a beta/cheerleader.

If this is your first time participating in this fest, which is all about finishing your WIPs, be sure to read How this Fest Works and the FAQs before signing up. And the nice mods of the Discord server 'The Tavern' (+18) have kindly let me have a designated channel for this fest which will be open from the 1st of November so we can all finally finish our fucking WIPs!

The stars of the show tell me they have to be ready for anything. Irish actor Colin Morgan, who plays young Merlin, reveals, ‘I get asked to do some pretty outrageous stuff. For one episode, I had to jump into a freezing-cold lake to rescue Arthur.’

Bradley James, the heart-throb of the series, who plays the earnest young Prince Arthur, appears to ride like a skilled horseman but he isn’t – and it’s led to some hairy moments. ‘I was worried I might not get this role because I couldn’t really ride before I got the job,’ says Bradley, 27. ‘We turned up on set one day and I noticed one of the horses looking really crazy. I said to Colin, who was beside me as my servant Merlin, “I fear for the poor guy who’s going to get on that horse.” Then, to my horror, it was me! ‘In the first take, the horse bolted and took me galloping at immense speed through the woods. I ended up just hanging on for dear life. Luckily, I stayed in the saddle and was OK.’

Merlin snaps just a little;

Everyone feels guilty about it. Especially when they realise that their apologies won’t be accepted so easily.

The dreaded magic reveal has happened.

I won’t write it out, it doesn’t really matter how it happened; maybe there was a fight and it was a last desperate attempt on Merlin’s part to save everyone, or maybe he was just stupid and oblivious and cast a spell without realising someone was looking. Or maybe it was neither, maybe Arthur just finally pulled his head from his arse and put it together.

Like I said, it doesn’t matter.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, is gathered in the Roundtable Room. Mordred, Gaius, and Lancelot look quietly worried. Morgana and Gwaine look an odd mix between protective and upset. Leon, Elyan, and Percival look angry, though more at the secrets and lies than at the magic. Gwen just looks heartbroken, unable to look at the man she thought she knew everything about. Arthur is stony-faced, furious and embarrassed; at having been lied to, at being made a fool of, at giving everything to a man who had done nothing but lie to him.

The Conversion Fest is hosted by the @merlin-fic-server mods and aims to bring more inclusion and diversity to the fandom.

For this fest, Creators may sign up as translators, submit their original works to be translated, or both!

For this event we are only accepting creations with text: fics, podfics, gifsets (with text) or comics

This event is open to all pairings and characters and does not have a rating cap.

Sign ups will open on August 1st and run for two weeks There will be two separate forms, one for Translators and one for Original Creators. Fill out the requested information and submit!

At the end of the two weeks, an email will be sent out with the information of the Original Creators and you will have the rest of the two weeks to decide whose work you want to translate. To claim an Original Creator, you will fill out the form attached to the email.

This will be a first come, first serve type of claiming

Yes, it’s official, we’re back again for our third year filling the hole, greasing the wheels, turning the knobs, and getting ready for a hot, kinky summer of filthy PWP goodness. We hope you’ll join us this August!

What is Kinkalot, you ask?

Kinkalot is an annual porn fest run by and for the BBC Merlin fandom, following in the footsteps of such fabulous forebears as Pornalot and the late, great Summer Pornathon! Kinkalot celebrates both our love of Merlin and our love of porny fanworks. Kinkalot runs over the course of August, with the aim of being a short, fun, kinky fest for the entire Merlin fandom.

Weekly main challenges (500-1,000 words, or art equivalent)

Weekly bonus challenges (freeform, no word count limits, anything goes)

Once upon a time I read a fic where both Merlin and Arthur were turned into dragons. I can’t remember how or why they were turned into dragons but Uther locked them in the cave under the castle. They managed to escape and control the shifting from dragon to human, Merlin gave birth to five(?) eggs at the same time, and I know they ended up living in a different kingdom until Uther died. If anyone could please help me find it, it would be much appreciated. Thank you!!! <3
