I deleted a previous post cause it put a new friend in a bad light and I didn’t intend it to.
Just this morning I cut ties with another Jewish person I was starting to meet, after they minimized the events in Amsterdam, criticized those calling it a pogrom and reposted from an antisemitic account on them matter. I was on edge but I should have reached out, still. I’m sorry.
Dear God, did you have to send me news like that, today of all days? I know, I know we are The Chosen People, but once in awhile, can't you choose someone else?
Errielle Azerradd
It’s 2024 and Israel is sending two planes to help Jews flee Amsterdam
thinking about everyone who can’t sleep right now and everyone who will wake up to the news on Amsterdam. sending out hugs and love. עם ישראל חי
my body went cold seeing the footage from Amsterdam. fuck anyone who has ever called for an Intifada.
Every single one of you fucks who “couldn’t vote for Kamala because Palestine”- you’re fucking responsible for what happens next. You have blood on your fucking hands.
And you can wail and whine and blame the Jews and the Zionists all you want. We didn’t fucking do this. You did.
We don’t how many people did it, and personally I don’t think it would have been enough to turn this election. But I legit saw someone celebrating that Democrats were paying the price because of their attitude towards I/P but that ain’t true. Black people, women, and LGBTQ+ will pay the price. Ukrainians and Palestinians too. Jews and Muslims too. What’s going on in Gaza is not the only thing happening right now, and shouldn’t be the only reason to vote or not.
If you actually believed that both were the same thing, you are in a incredibly privileged spot where you know you can survive four years of Trump with little to no personal change in your life.
Seen at shul during chag
All y'all fuckers when you say you ain't gonna vote
I was legit thinking of this analogy yesterday. But in a “if I don’t touch the lever then things will go as they would if I was never here” kinda way.
There’s an illusion that doing nothing when you have the power to do something means you are not involved. But not touching the lever is a choice too, and it’s not free of consequences.

This would be your infatada revolution people are chanting for. Stop claiming ignorance because there’s no excuse for it.
Hey just to get one point clear:
To anyone who walks the walk and talks the talk but “doesn’t mean it to be that bad”: you’re just as guilty as the people who do mean it just like that.
And at this point, I flatly refuse to make a difference. You shout the slogans, you bear the responsibility.
Yup. You can say “it’s not what they mean” all you want, they are pretty clear about their intentions and you can’t judge us for not acting like you, imagining what you want their intentions to be. You dilute their words so you can walk with a free conscience, (just like you changed “will be Arab” to “will be free”) but we know exactly what they mean.
And even if you look at these images and still don’t think that’s what a Intifada would look like, please question yourself as to why these have happened, and why there’s so little noise about it outside Jewish communities, and what are you doing to stop it.
Enough posts arguing with antisemites, we need to return to our roots and argue with each other. Here are some opinions I have, prove me wrong
Sweet kugel is gross and a food crime
Sim shalom is the best blessing/prayer like tune wise - goes fucking hard at shul when everyone does like the split lyric thing and we met up at the end
Purim is the best holiday
Matzoh fucking slaps
Matzoh ball soup is a year round dish, shouldn't only be eaten on pesach
Matzoh brei should not have eggs and should be cooked in a shit ton of butter
The reuben sandwich is the best recent food invented by a jew
Sweet kugel is delicious if you want something sweet but it's actually better cold/room temp than hot, and if it has crumbs on the top it's gross
Matzah is glorified cardboard
Matzah brei is literally matzah and eggs so if you take the eggs out you're gentrifying it (jk). But butter significantly elevates eggs so I'll allow the smothering
Reubens are a shanda
EDIT: K so I looked it up and it turns out matzah brei by definition isn't matzah + eggs, it's matzah + water, but I've only ever had it with eggs so to me matzah brei = matzah + eggs. Still don't agree that you should lose the eggs though.
wait....not all kugel is sweet?? cause all i've ever had was some sweet kugel and it was gross and i have since been vehemently anti-kugel (love the texture but the taste was just so icky imo)
Oh no :( Potato kugel could be sweetish, depending on how many eggs are put in and what kind of onions are used, but it still is more of a savory kugel. Same for other veggie kugels, like broccoli, cauliflower, etc.
Noodle kugels are infamously sweet, too sweet according to some. Yerushalmi kugel is... weird imo; sweetish but also peppery.
I just looked up yerushalmi kugel..... get the fuck off my blog that is a food crime /ns (non serious)
I didn’t know savory kugel existed either. I’m now in desperate need of trying it cause I love the ingredients in it.
My grandma has only ever made sweet kugel, and I eat it in front of her because she loves it. I have always worried about losing the recipe when she is no longer with us since I’ve never enjoyed it, but preserving it was still important to me. Glad to know I can make a few alterations to my taste and keep the tradition going :)
I JUST GOOGLED YERUSHALMI KUGEL BECAUSE THE POST REAPPEARED ON MY DASH AND THAT’S THE ONE MY GRANDMA MAKES. WHAT. THAT’S THE ONLY KUGEL I HAVE KNOWN MY WHOLE LIFE.
Someone made a post about the abysmal state of Jewish rep in Rick Riordan’s universe so now I’m thinking about how I would do Jewish characters in that.
Jew at Camp Half Blood: *gets their menorah out*
Cabinmate: Oh, that’s so cool, what’re you celebrating?
Jew: Hannakah! It’s a holiday celebrating an ancient military revolt!
Cabinmate: Neat, against who?
Jew: *sweats nervously*
Cabinmate: An ancient military revolt against who?
Alternatively:
Jew at Camp Jupiter: Yeah, I’m pretty bummed out today. It’s the saddest day in the Jewish calendar.
Friend: I didn’t know that— what makes it so sad?
Jew: Uhhhhhhhh
Jew: Uhhhh
Alternatively 2:
Jewish host to an Egyptian God: Yeah so I’m not allowed to have bread for a week. It’s a HaShem thing, you understand
Egyptian God: Why
Jew: Oh don’t worry about it. Anyway I have to dab my pinky finger in wine ten times real quick. For no reason in particular
Egyptian God: Wait why are you doing that. Why is that a holiday. What happened
goyim stop trying to mold Jews and Judaism to your liking/so you are not called antisemitic challenge
If you're all so "indigenous," then why don't you all just go back to your homeland and stop subverting the rest of the world. If you did that, we really wouldn't care so much about the ongoing genocide.
Honestly I’m very confused. Many of us DID go back to israel, and you get mad at us for that. Now that we don’t, you get mad at us. If we went, you would still care about the “genocide” because we’re white colonizers now. You just hate Jews.
can you put "they wear/don't wear hats" in the middle?
