Selena was new to the city. She hadn’t seen a familiar face, didn’t know of one that lived here, and had yet to adjust to the fast-paced life of Harbour Pointe. It wasn’t the first time that she had been in a city like this, but it was the first time that she had to fend for herself. Typically, there was a bodyguard or event manager leading the way and keeping the crowds at bay for easy travel. It was nothing like traveling the crowded streets alone.
With the new life came a new job and it seemed like one of the lesser popular ones of the building. The urgency they expressed for an instructor told her that there was either none or ones that weren’t very good and when she arrived on her first day she got her answer. There were none. It was a complete waste of a perfect dance space. She needed to get this studio back on its feet.
“Please display these wherever you can.”
After recruiting the help of a random passerby with a simple batting of her lashes and a welcoming smile, she was able to distribute what she hoped was a good number of flyers for Sound in Motion. For one day only the studio would offer a free dance lesson to those who show up to that hour block. Those who continue to show after or purchase a membership can benefit from discount prices on events, get access to special events, and much more.
It wasn’t that she was hopeless per say... It was just that music never seemed to feel right to her, And of course it wasn’t music’s fault. No one else seemed to have the difficulty she did. SO as she usually did, she chalked it up to her lack of understanding and decided it was time to do something about it. It had helped that someone had left a flyer about free dance lessons on the front desk at work.
Flyer in hand, she made her way over after work. It would likely be too busy for her to see any of the instructors in person and see if she liked them, but at least she could look around. Thankfully she’d walked by it more than a handful of times and knew where it was. Opening the front door, she stuffed the flyer into her pocket before stepping inside.Â
Eyes wide, she looked around, mouth slightly agape. She had had no idea the inside of the building was this nice. Made her feel a little out of place amongst it all. Shaking her head a little, she tried to turn her thoughts back to the reason she was here. She followed the receptionist’s instructions and wandered a little further into the building hoping she’d find someone.Â
