I think this is a hypothetical but my immediate reaction was "when did she do that omg" so its a pretty in character one xD
its always so hard to guess how gem acts with pearl without the plausible deniability of a stream, cause they just give her excuses like "its to tease the fans" or "Im clipfarming" and other "its just content" explanations to avoid the real implications of what she says
all that to say, Im not sure whether she has the confidence to double down outside of a stream, especially when the "gem calling pearl hot" section ended so abruptly on gems end, it seemed like embarrassment or her regretting pushing it so far (she probably wasnt expecting such a strong reaction from pearl, and got caught up in it without thinking it through)
but maybe she would anyway, just to get the chance to tease pearl a little more. maybe she's ask pearl to turn her facecam on again, so gem finally gets to see the blush she caused
im constantly thinking about gempearl rpf but i don't really have anything new to say besides they're obnoxious. i feel like people don't understand how obnoxious they are. the rituals? intricate. the flirting? stupid. & frequent. whatever you see in their videos is just a drop in the ocean of how weird they are.
Going insane over the "can we make a baby" clip but not for the reasons everyone else is. To me, I didn't even register that pause. It was like, less than half a second. I watched the clip and my initial reaction was like, "yeah, funny rpf haha but you'd need terminal shipper brain to interpret/perceive that pause as particularly long or deliberate."
Pearl herself then referred to it as a "super long pause" 🤨 Gem is not the worst for that I'm sorry it's Pearl's reactions to pretty tame interactions that make me a genuine RPFer
this is such a good point honestly-
cause like I do think that Gem paused like that on purpose because, if nothing else, she *did* lead pearl to her bedroom to ask on purpose. I think gem was at minimum adding enough of a pause to make a clip to feed the shippers, and at most trying to fluster pearl herself (when pearl calls the pause super long she just said "it wasnt super long", not "I didnt pause" which felt like confirmation it was deliberate)
but she definitely wasnt anticipating just how strongly pearl reacted- like she probably just expected pearl to flounder a little and scold her for making an innuendo on stream. not fully shut down and struggle to even form a response?? gem even tries to leave/move on from it multiple times but pearl comes back to it anyway, like she *has* to know why gem said it
(yknow, for someone who goes through such an effort to clear things up and make sure people know shes straight, she really doesnt put any of that into actually acting like she is in rhe first place xD)

Coming to the realization that i need to wake up early not for any other reason but to watch Pearl streams, because it feels like the ones with rpfish content come out of the blue. On the topic of clips, there's this one, that is currently Gem's top clip of the month, in which Gem just stares at Pearl and proceeds to take a not so sneaky screenshot, literally only of Pearl.
I cant believe I just stumbled across this clip at random. I think Im in analysis overload. holy shit. the way pearls breath hitches after gem says shes hot. the complete silence until she reminds herself shes on stream, instead of actually responding. looking at her skin to remind herself what gem is talking about. trying to go along with the bit and saying "dont hold back", starting to make a joke about needing a waterbucket cause shes so hot
but gem ignores her deflecting and says that she *wishes her facecam was on*. after pearl tells her not to hold back on calling her hot. as if she wanted to call her actual self hot, instead of just her skin. pearl saying that shes *glad* its off. and doing a silly little voice about it to distract from the fact shes basically admitting that gem has *visibly* flustered her, and that shes probably bright red??
and *THEN* gem immediately hits some kind of post-flustering-pearl clarity where she realises shes actually getting a reaction out of pearl (like she wanted) and immediately like. runs away?? "on that note!" in a completely different tone to everything shes been saying like she needs to make an escape as fast as possible
and even after all that, pearl still says that gem can come bother her anytime. oh my god
