Do not live in a state of heedless, not foreseeing how your actions might affect other believers. If all you do is just based on how you feel without comprehending the consequences then what is the difference between you and the cattle? A believer is mindful of how their actions or speech might affect others before he does it, even if he is joking. He calculates how shaytan might make someone see his actions differently. Don't aid shaytan in planting discord amongst the believers.
Yahya ibn Mu’ādh, may Allāh have mercy upon him, said:
“According to how much you fear Allāh the people will respect you, and according to how much you love Allāh the people will love you, and according to how much you busy yourself with Allāh [with worship] the people will become busy in your affairs [i.e. in your service].

Abd-Allāh ibn Mas’ūd رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ said:
Indeed the greatest Āyah in the Qur’ān relating to [Allāh’s] relief is:
