hey just a heads up/warning for those of you who don't do well dealing with the heavy subjects or videos portraying violent acts, sandyhook promise has a new gun violence school shooting PSA that is probably going to be going viral and is slated to play on television and in AMC movie theaters and it's pretty heavy, especially at the end. I know it's a topic that needs to be discussed but it's not a video that everyone will be able to watch, so just a warning for those of you that might not be able to handle it.

Also, if they demand you check in with them constantly while out with your friends, or give you rules about what you can and can’t do while out.

There is, of course, a difference between “Let me know when you all get there,” or “Could you let me know about when you’ll be back?” and “Text me every 15 minutes while you’re out (so I know what you’re doing).” Just like there’s a difference between “Oh, what are y’all gonna do?” and “Give me an itinerary of what you’re going to be doing and I’ll let you know whether I approve of you going/which parts you are ‘allowed’ to do.” But abusers are really, really good at making their control sound like care. If there’s any implication that you’re not allowed to do something with your friends, if your partner says you shouldn’t hang out with other friends without them, or if you feel like you’re being nannied, that’s a red flag.
