having gay characters in kids’ books is not political. teaching your kids that lgbt+ people do not exist, that being lgbt+ is shameful, or that lgbt+ stories do not deserve to be told, is political. if you are not teaching children tolerance, you are teaching them bigotry. full stop

Being one of the very, very few non-binary people in a small town, and becoming famous for being the “weird kid” :))))

You know whos important as fuck? Non binary people. All of em. Every last one. NB people who present as androgynous. NB people who present as feminine. NB people who present as masculine. NB that struggle with dysphoria but aren’t quite sure how to fix it. NB people that get made fun of for using ze or xe pronouns becase they “aren’t real.” NB people who are constantly told they pronouns are grammatically incorrect. NB people who get told they arent non binary enough for using she or he pronouns. NB people who are constantly accused of making up their gender to be a “special snowflake.” You’re not a special snowflake. But you are fuckin special. And you also kick ass. All you peeps are great. Keep doing you and keep kicking gender roles’ ass while doing it.
