Shadow smiled at Rosie, who some how ended up on the floor, in the last hour or two that it took to get to Goodneighbor from Salem. “Well now, I’ve heard you had quite the evening tonight. Does your head hurt?”
Her expression twists to one of annoyance, tempted to roll over and pout but ultimately did not. She manages to move one arm, hand pressing against her forehead. “Whatever Charlie claims, I didn’t do it,” she responds too quickly. An obvious lie. Perhaps a joke even. “Head’s killing me though. I feel like a Deathclaw bodyslammed my face into a brick wall.”
*Shadow looked at poor Rosie and sighed, before taking out a few herbs that were scarce now in the Commonwealth and quickly grinds them up before handing them to Rosie with some purified water.* "Take these love, it'll help with the head pain."

Lost Petals Pt 7: Blizzard
Gemini was finally done with getting the files. She had emails for every single person involved with her mother's experiments and was quite happy that finally Shadow and the boys would set in motion their freedom.
Gemini waited for the Restistance members to return, giving them some extra time. Nathaniel was back in the office now, with some food and some coffee for her, he gave her a playful wink and placed the tray in front of her.
"Listen, I get that you're all business right now, but I haven't seen you eat yet today, so eat." Nathaniel wanted to say more, but he didn't want to sound too worried about her. He excused himself once more and went to go tend to some bar patrons who were getting a bit rowdy.
Incredbile to see how time flies when you′re speaking with someone who truly understands… more than an hour had passed, and Deadshot and Mary had hardly taken any breaks from their discussion. Seeing how late it had gotten, Mary made sure to promise they were going to continue the conversation another time.
“Well shite, that sure must seem like a somethin’ else break for ‘em. We had been talkin’ for donkey’s years, hadn’t we.” She snorted, making her way into the bar: “To think I don’t even smoke…” Deadshot let go a quiet chuckle, following his partner almost like a loyal dog.
The two stopped for a brief moment eyeing the crowd that filled the bar, spotting a particularly... ‘active’ guest. “In yer vocabulary, Nate, how would you define that person?” He rose an eyebrow: “Unpleasant. Sort of looks like other people would like him to shut up just like I do.” “Correct answer, dear.” Calmly making her way through the crowd, she reached the costumer and abruptly pushed him on back on his seat, startling him and making eye contact with him: “Want a Martini with yer fuckin’ teeth inside?!” The man wildly shook his head. “Thought so. Sit the fuck down and shut up, and I won’t shove that numb skull of yers up yer dumb fecking arse.”
Leaving the startled costumer behind, she made her way back to Deadshot with a little smirk: “This, dear, is how you deal with people like that.” Turning around, she finally noticed Nathaniel in the room: “Ah, blue eyes is here. Sorry for the wait, I’m a chain smoker.”
Nathaniel had been about to throw the trouble maker out when the Resistance leader walked up to the man, so Nathaniel was watching from close by with a smirk, after she was done he gave the man a glare then turned back to the other two with a friendly smile.
"Welcome back, no need to apologize by the way. My Lady is done with the files, would you like me to walk you back to the office?"
Mary cleared her throat, perhaps still taken aback bythe usage of 'My Lady' - she definitely was no longer used to that anymore.
"...of course, bring us to uh... your lady. We are right behind you."
As soon as Nathaniel turned around, the two exchanged a few confused and questioning looks and followed the man.
"I may need another smoking break soon." Mary rose an eyebrow, not really understanding what her associate meant... until it dawned on her - sarcasm.
"You're terrible." She chuckled quietly: "Don't worry, we're almost done. I thought you were supposed to be the patient one, sniper."
"Alright, let's go then." Nathaniel replied with a chuckle as he turned to lead the way back to the office.
Upon entering Nathaniel noticed Gem had finished her food and had almost finished her coffee, he lead there guests into the office, he grabbed the tray then politely excused himself, shutting the door behind him.
"Ah Welcome back guys. Sorry for that little disturbance when you came into the bar. Anyway, I have your files." Gemini said before pulling a USB stick out of her laptop to hand to the other two followed shortly after by a piece of paper that held a schedule of sorts.
"I've actually added more evidence that I found. Now do you guys have any last questions before we begin or operation?"
“Disturbance?” Mary snorted in amusement: “You mean fun little accident. Ye haven’t lived until you’ve scared the feckin’ consciousness outta an eijit. Big and strong, but crappin’ their pants as soon as someone else calls ‘em out on their shite.” She took the USB stick and papers from Gem, reading the schedule carefully.
“Yes, actually. One question: just how far can we go? If a CO of yours or someone like that steps in, should we keep going or call it quits? Cause I sort of want to scare ‘em off.” “I think…” Deadshot spoke up, raising an eyebrow: “...I feel like you should uh - be careful. I - we don’t want to lose you.” “Losin’ me? Ha!”
Gemini's eyebrow raised for a split second at the interaction before shrugging it off to answer the question
"I would suggest that you refrain from too much, but I think a scare would be okay. I believe you'll be fighting Nathaniel first, so I'll just have to brief him on the intensity of the battle, but it should be alright. We heal rather quickly, well unless it's extensive injuries."
"No worries," Mary gestured: "I won't go too hard on him. I promise all of his teeth will remain in place by the time we'll be done. Won't go for the eyes, won't go for the clackers... I'll play nice. Nate is stayin' home, by the way."
"...not."
She turned around to look at Nate, as an intense silence filled the room for a few istante: "Jaysus, fine, fine - guess Boomer would only make things worse. Me fella will be around making sure I don't go too crazy... hm, we are going to need a date."
Gemini smirked to herself a moment at the interaction of the other two before giving a smile before replying "It's going to be this Friday, so in two days."
As Gemini was talking a message alert sounded on her phone, the contact was Castiel.
"Oh, I think it's time you head back. I guess you guys have a meeting shortly." Gemini said after reading the message

Lost Petals Pt 6: Iced Over
Shadow nodded in agreement with Nate about the time restrictions and then she slid her card through the reader as well. "We need to go down two flights of stairs to get to the main lobby."
Shadow gave her companions another smile and began descending the stairs just after Castiel.
She felt secure here and safe, unlike her home near the coast. And she had hoped that soon she'd be able to move to Salem and be free of the Military.
As the two followed Shadow, they exchanged a few words in a foreign language: familiar sounding yet mostly unintelligible, one could only get a glimpse of what they were saying only by the tone in their voices.
Deadshot sounded sort of tense and probably wasn't even well versed in the language due to his stuttering, and Mary seemed to have been trying to talk him down: he felt caged, more than usual. The base he was often confined into was nothing more but a cell, but at least it was big enough for him to move freely.
"Three more months and we're moving. Three." He reminded himself, remembering how beautiful Barcelona was back when he first visited it with Mary. They were going to fake their deaths and move away under new identities. As much as the resistance was Mary's idea and cause, they had seen enough, and were looking forward to starting over.
"The way this is built resembles a fallout shelter." Mary observed, finally speaking up: "We have these in our mansion, back in Mount Desert Island."
They had just reached the bottom stairs that lead into a hallway, large enough for three people to walk side by side when she responded to Mary.
"Well that is possible... Gem and I went to some sort of Presentation of there's, so she probably memorized the structure of the vaults... Mother invested quite a bit of money in Vault-Tech, I've even heard of a Vault-Tech University in West Virginia. "
Shadow glanced around noticing the similarities between the presentation and what Cas and Nathaniel built.
"But not to worry we just need to go done this hall a little more, to those double doors and it'll be more open."
Shadow said and soon enough they made it to the doors and flung them open.
"Welcome to the Rose Tavern." She said as Castiel moved to the side to show the other two the large room.
The floor was a well maintained rosewood floor, the tables were round, made of stainless steel, to the left of the entry way was the main bar, it was made of the same stainless steel ad the dining sets, with countless shelves behind it against a well taken care of mirror, the lights were a soft white glow, in the middle of the room was a huge dance floor and a stage meant for a live band.
It was obvious that Shadow had sunk quite a bit of money on the Tavern, but the employees and the customers seemed genuinely happy there.
"There's also some rooms in the back for sleeping off your alcohol, or if you just need some where to sleep in general. There's also a storage room and even a basement level."
Busy staring at the luxurious walls and decor, Deadshot stepped closed to Mary, clearly intimidated by the sight. He was a man who grew up in the streets and was thrown in a cage as soon as he was old enough, and the sight of such expensive things always took him a while to get used to.
Mary wasn't exactly pleased herself, as she was born in luxury and had always rejected it: money bring corruption, it rots your soul away, and she knew. In her family, she saw a bunch of hissing snakes, and in the mansion they took so much pride in, she saw their pit: there they would lie in the darkness, spitting their venom at each other.
"It's..." Mary took a deep breath, lying through gritted teeth: "Lovely."
She took a brief pause: "Well, shall we get down to business?"
Taking in their reaction Shadow realized both actually weren't okay with the the expensive looking items. "Just so you know I don't take money from this. All my employees get paid as do the stockers, but anyway extra money we don't need goes to charity. I've lived in luxury my whole life, I know what the cost of having money is, so except for this one time with building this. I've given any money I have to those in need... "
Castiel had disappeared at some point, but Shadow knew that he had her in his sights wherever he was standing guard. "Anyway my sister and Nathaniel are in the office. Shall we?"
Mary felt like snorting: of course she would say that. Everyone put on the spot does. Whether or not this person was lying, was to be determined at a later date, and now it wasn't time to start arguing about wealth and whatnot.
"I understand." She nodded after exchanging a few looks with Deadshot: "We are right behind you."
Shadow just headed towards the office, they didn't have to believe her, each person has differing opinions on their situation, instead she just focused on the conversation to come.
They entered the room and their behind the desk sat a woman, her hair was as long as Shadow had previously mentioned, her eyes seemed to be a darker shade of green than Shadow's, and upon her face she wore black rimmed glasses. Behind her stood another redheaded man with ocean blue eyes, but his face was more rough and strict looking, with a scar under his eye that looked like a roughly stitched injury, and his hair was longer and wavy, his outfit was a black suit with no tie.
The Raven haired woman looked up at the group over her glasses and gave a polite smile.
"Hey there. Welcome to Rose Tavern, I assume you're the 'friends' my sister spoke of? I'm Gemini, the suit behind me is Nathaniel. "
Nathaniel gave the group a warm smile "Hey everyone, doe you guys do handshakes or would you prefer a simple nod?"
His voice was definitely not one you'd expect from such a rough looking fighter, especially after meeting his quieter brother.
Deadshot gave the man and woman a polite, silent nod, letting Mary do the talking: "Yes, we are with the Resistance. My pleasure. I'm Mary and this is my ah, associate. We are here to better understand the situation you're in, so we can help you getting away from the army."
Mary, in all honesty, didn't quite like repeating herself constantly, but this was part of the job and she was going to suffer through it. 'Me scars are much longer than me patience', she always said.
Silence fell for a second, in which she exchanged a few looks with Deadshot: "My associate doesn't talk much, so he'll probably just listen. Hope you don't mind."
"No worries. So Shadow mentioned that you need blackmail fodder to get us out. Well obviously she didn't say it exactly like that, but no need for formal speech here. But regardless I've got the files you need. Do you need anything else to help us? Like a distraction or maybe something less subtle like a rebellion?" Gem spoke as she began organizing the folders on her desk. Definitely not one for small talk, especially not with something serious like this.
"Though I would advise against a full blown Rebellion unless we had absolutely no choice, however if it is time for that, then all four of us will stand with you. " Shadow added not wanting the possibility of the rest of the resistance getting injured.
“We will have to go down the stealthy route, at least for the moment.” Mary folded her arms across her chest: “We have little numbers, and after the organization was almost eradicated a few years ago, we cannot afford to openly rebel just yet.” She gestured: “I refuse to endanger my friends and associates any further, and I hope ye understand. The material to blackmail the people who have power on you will be more than enough.”
Mary took a pause, feeling one of Deadshot’s hands on her shoulder: they exchanged a few looks and he gestured towards himself. “Are you sure it would work?” She asked, and watched him nod again: “Alright, this can’t hurt if done properly. Thanks, me fella.”
Mary turned her attention back on Gem: “Well, there’s something you can do. Without leaving any traces behind, it’s possible to send the army a message, a reminder that their grasp over their precious experiments, is not as firm as they think it is. Breach security systems, get into their email addresses, or even just come up with the pettiest things that would get you reported for misbehaving. Even breaking a security cam within the base reminds them we cannot be controlled forever. It may not seem like much, but it makes them nervous.” She smirked: “They know it’s us, and it makes them feel more and more powerless as time passes.”
As Gem listened she was already forming a plan, and when the suggestion of starting to act up was heard Gem got a mischievous smirk on her lips "Oh I can get you those email addresses, several of those folders have them already." Then she looked at Shadow "You know Shay... All 4 of us began acting up, they would be terrified..." There was a glint of enjoyment at the thought in Shadow's eyes
"You're right... I've only rebelled to mother... And none of at COs know about that..." Shadow then looked towards the other two
"You said little things that will get us written up right? I think that would be quite the shock to them if we did it, we've given one hundred percent obidence to them since the beginning."
"We should absolutely do this Miss Shadow, I'm all for causing a little mayhame." Nathaniel said before calling out to Castiel, who just walked in to the office like he'd been nearby this whole time.
"If it's what you wish Lady Shadow then I'll do it." Came Castiel's soft voice.
“Careful.” She commented: “I said to cause mahyem, but don’t get caught on the act. Don’t let them know you’re on our side - if anything, openly antagonize us. Tell 'em you want our organization stomped to the ground, that we are filth and anarchs without real cause. They’ll keep what they think are allies very close.” A subtle smirk: “The closer they are, the easier it will be for you to backstab 'em once the right time comes.”
“Men fear the unknown. Not knowing what’s hitting you is frightening. Nothing blinds someone more than fear. Their minds are much more fragile than we are made to believe.” Deadshot added: “You are with us, but they do not possess that knowledge: use this to your advantage. Sabotage the Army, but don’t let them see you.”
Hearing him speak up, a smile formed on her face: “Well said, Nate.”
"Okay, so here's what we'll do, I'll rig the schedules for our groups to have us interact more, they've been talking about testing their 'creations' on us anyway, since we're an elite team, according to what Vasquez said in the meeting earlier. So Vasquez is probably going to have Shadow standby as she's his favorite..." Gem paused quickly glancing at Shadow
"It's alright Gem you can say it, they have the tapes already..."
"Alright... Vasquez considers Shay his favorite toy, so he'll keep her held back and most likely put either Nathaniel or Castiel on the front lines, so to speak. So if one of yours does something to resist orders, we can start getting into the CO's heads. Of course if you have an ideas as well please feel free to tell us."
Both of the two soldiers’ voices rang out at the same time: “I’ll do it.”
There was a moment of silence, in which Mary turned around to look at Deadshot: “Don’t.” “...but-” “Absolutely not, that’s the quickest way to convince them to finally kill you off.” She behaved differently with him, and while she still maintained that ‘bad cop’ facade that got things done, there was something different in her behavior - she was being stern with her decision, but the aggression typical of her mannerisms just wasn’t there.
“I’ll do it.” Mary continued, turning her attention back to the others - there was now pride mixed with a hint of arrogance in her voice, as she cracked her knuckles with a smirk: “I like making people shake in fear, so your dear Vasquez will quite literally shite his pants.” A whisper came from behind her: “...language.” “Oh right. Not sorry about it.”
Gem gave Mary a smile "Alright then it's settled. I'll have your emails and the schedules within an hour. So I'm thinking the first session will be set for just after they serve 'dinner' at the Mess Hall. Should we set up a drop for the supplies?"
Mary shrugged: "Will it take long? If not, we could simply just wait outside while you guys work. No pressure. You take your time."
"I want to see the museum." Deadshot idly commented: "Wonder what's the story with this place..."
"Oh, it's delightful."
"It is?"
"Sarcasm."
"...oh."
"Shay needs to go back to the Base, but no it won't take long just an hour." Gemini replied and gave Shadow a sad knowing look. She knew exactly why Vasquez wanted to see her, and she wasn't happy about it.
"Yes, I do need to go. But you guys are welcome to stay as long as you need."
The two exchanged a few looks.
"You okay with staying nearby, then?"
"I think so."
With his response, Mary nodded: "We can wait outside for a little, my fellow associate needs some fresh air." She rose an eyebrow: "Unless Shadow needs a ride...? I brought you here, after all."
"No need to worry about that Ma'am, I'll take her in my car." Castiel spoke up giving them a polite smile.
"Thank you for helping us we'll see you all soon." And with that Shadow and Castiel said their goodbyes and left.
Gem watched them leave then sighed heavily... "You'll see the tapes soon enough, but as I mentioned before Shay is Vasquez's 'favorite toy'... She won't be available for awhile... And I want to kill him for it... But let's get down to business... If you would like I can teach you guys how to do this, if you don't already know that is."
Gem's last sentences had an unexpected impact on both the hosts: in particular, those words made Deadshot flinch. It was something barely noticeable, and easily mistaken for a simple idle movement. The neutral expression on his face was but a mask now, and nothing could really stop certain sensations and memories that mercilessly washed over him.
Mary took a deep breath and blinked a few times, slightly taken aback: such an awfully bold statement...
"Well..." She cleared her throat: "The Resistance has a chief engineer also well versed in this matters. I'm fairly skilled with terminals and such, but she's much more knowledgeable. Me? I'm good at breaking faces and saving arses. Very much so."
She was speaking with arrogance again, perhaps to mask her growing concern for her associate: she knew him well enough to know the impact those words always had on him. Despite his refusal to fully disclose the reason why, claiming he 'needed time to come to terms with it', Mary knew she needed to get him out of that place soon, at least for ten minutes.
"I could go for a smoke right now. You?" She looked back at him, and watched him nod in response: "Well, if there wasn't anything else, we'd go for a quick break."
"Alright. If you guys aren't back when I'm done, then I'll come out and find you. If you guys want there's a footpath that leads down to a secluded part of the beach, so you won't have to deal with any one else."
At that point Nathaniel walked over to a secure cabinet, and after unlocking it he pulled out some electronic equipment and returned to Gem's side.
"Here you go babe. " He said to her with a wink then with her thank you he headed out of the office, shutting the door behind him, he took up a stance in front of it, standing guard, though he left room for any one to exit.
"And thank you. Even if you guys can only get Shay out then that would mean the world to the rest of us."
