Hi everyone - my job hasn't scheduled me with a shift yet despite having been hired a month ago due to a paperwork error.

So apparently Emily Gwen didn’t even create the lesbian flag, has made nearly 100k in donations in a single year, and might actually have never been homeless at all
If I had a nickel for every time a gay online personality plagiarized other queer creators work and scammed people out of thousands of dollars, I’d have 2 nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s disappointing that it’s happened twice.
Here's a reminder that the 'creator' of the sunset lesbian flag, Emily Gwen Morris, is an e-begging thief.
Not only did they literally just rip the design from here (posted July 3rd 2017, screenshot can be found at the bottom of this post) and claim it as their own original design in 2018, but they use the fact that they 'made it' to beg for money on Twitter.
She gets many donations to her Ko-fi daily, especially when they decide to get back on the e-beggar grind of posting a picture of a negative bank balance every other week.
11 days ago, October 23rd, roughly 129 people donated most likely $5 at least to her Ko-fi. That is 5-6 donations an hour, around $645+ in a day. Again people usually donate $5 as it is the minimum option they give you without having to edit the amount yourself manually.
You can scroll forever and will be met by hundreds of thousands of donations made to them.

Some people who have donated only did so to get their message on their Ko-fi page, stating that they're taking advantage of people and their kindness and/or ignorance. You can find many of said donations just by scrolling down a few times.
Emily Gwen Morris is a jobless 29 year old who grifts off of a design she stole, and likely is paid over $100+ daily in donations yet somehow consistently has -$100+ in her bank account.

It's funny how when I was just getting into the TES fandom everyone kept telling me that altmer lovers all agree with the dominion's ideology and need to be avoided at all costs because they're awful and racist. This type of warning never applied to dunmer lovers for some inexplicable reason btw. But anyway, then I started exploring the fandom here on tumblr and realized altmer lovers are, in fact, often the nicest people on earth and just like to put the snotty elves into situations and watch them suffer. Idk man. I'm certain there's plenty of awful people in the fandom and some factions attract them more than others but I think racists are just gonna apply their ideology into whatever TES race happens to be their favourite. Crazy idea but maybe we should stop taking a bunch of people we've never even met in bad faith and maybe sometimes people's interests are nuanced and maybe people can also like fictional characters without agreeing with their beliefs or actions...

No one’s ever been able to answer this so I’m gonna ask it again: Why do cishet aces want to be LGBT so bad? Why do you want to have that label on you? Because honestly, it fucking sucks. It might seem cool to be part of the “exclusive gay kids club” online, but outside of tumblr, LGBT people are stereotyped at best, and stalked and killed at worst. Sure, we have pride parades and gay bars, but we live in fear of being shot and killed just for being there. There are certain countries I can’t even enter for fear of being executed because of my orientation. I just don’t understand why you would want to be in a community that inherently puts you in danger. Cishet aces and aros, you have a free pass from this kind of abuse. Why do you want to go through it?

so while whether they’re viewed as LGBT by the majority of the LGBT community itself isn’t relevant to how much violence they face, they’re still put in the exact same basket as the LGBT community in the eyes of cisheteropatriarchy!

which means that the level of social violence against them will remain the same whether the LGBT community accepts them or not, but that being accepted into the LGBT community provides them with safe spaces (both digital and physical) resources (such as suicide help lines designed specifically for those with sexualities rejected by cisheteropatriarchy) and an accepting community environment that makes them feel less broken and suicidal!
being viewed as nonstraight by cihseteropatriarchy while being viewed as straight by bigots in the LGBT community means they get *all* the discrimination with *none* of the protection!

Q SLUR TW First of all, cishet aces are only considered LGBT because you guys tell everyone you’re LGBT. If they were to stop trying to piggyback on the movement as much as they do, they would face the same amount of discrimination as, say, someone who is celibate for religious reasons. They could so easily say “oh, I don’t experience sexual attraction” or even “I don’t want to have sex until I get to know you better” or WHATEVER flavor of ace they are, and odds are no one would bat an eye. But because they insist on calling themselves “gay” and “queer”, they’re being lumped with an oppressed group. ACES added the A to the acronym, ACES put themselves in pride events, and ACES have been trying to force themselves in LGBT-friendly spaces for years now. And NONE of your arguments directly address the original point of the post, which is: Why do cishet aces want to be oppressed? Cishet aces can easily opt out of that oppression. But instead they insist on being included. Because, as much as they hate to admit it, they are not systemically oppressed. It’s not even that we’re saying all aces/aro people arent lgbt. We know there are lgbtpn aces (or lgbtpn aros), but the lgbt+ community was built as a safe space for people that face homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, etc. we [lgbt+ ppl] face that kind of discrimination which also leads to years of oppression and calling us slurs that later on we either reclaimed or get anxiety from because of past experiences. The type of “discrimination” aces face is toxic masculinity and misogyny; there’s no actual oppression aces face that revolve around them being ace rather than the societies they may live around. We want a community where we can all feel safe from our oppressors, and I’m sorry to say that cishet asexuals have no place in it. And a short note on your last little tidbit: the reason why “aphobes” are different than TERFs is because we recognize that transgender people are valid in their identities and don’t reduce them to their genitals. We also acknowledge that transgender individuals face systemic oppression much like what gay people, lesbians, and bisexuals face. And the majority of us are trans and experience some form of same-gender attraction so if you can stop comparing us to TERFs and biphobes that would be fantastic.
@yaintlgbtpn You endanger trans women and support TERFs by copying their rhetoric in a way that normalizes it, making the populace more open to accepting TERF viewpoints. I’ve seen TERFs use the similarities between transmisogyny and acephobia to recruit ace exclusionists into being TERFs.
Your movement is a direct threat to my safety.

My name is Nadin. I never imagined I would write something like this. I’ve always been someone who kept her worries quiet, someone who believed that even the hardest days could be endured with patience and faith. But right now, I am reaching out — not because I want to, but because I need to.
I am a wife, a mother, and one of many women in Gaza trying to survive days that feel like they have no end. There was a short time — a brief ceasefire — where we thought things might start to heal. Where the sound of war faded for just long enough to let us breathe. But that moment is gone now, and the fear has returned louder than before.
My days are filled with uncertainty, and my nights with prayer. We have lost so much. Our home was damaged, our sense of safety taken from us. But through all of this, I try to keep going. I try to hold on to what little peace I can create with my hands, my words, and my love.
I am not asking for much. Just a little help to keep our lives from falling further apart. To fix the small things — a cracked wall, a leaking roof, the pieces of daily life that help us hold on to dignity.
This campaign isn’t just about survival. It’s about holding on to what makes us human in a place that keeps trying to take that away. It’s about showing my daughter — even though I won’t mention her name here — that the world didn’t forget us.
