We are not homogenous. There is no one Middle Eastern culture. Okay? Okay.

The terms "middle east" and "far east" were both coined as orientalist homogenized localities in relation to the west/europe. yet while "far east" has (rightly) fallen out of favor as a racist descriptor for east, south-east, and to a certain degree south asia, "middle east" persists as an orientalist term and yall have got to start asking questions about Why That Is.
