Finishing dinner and then realizing that I left a stack of essays on my desk that I needed to have graded by 1st period....
When kids ask me what page a certain quote is on
When my students pull me aside during lunch because they have to “tell me something”
Hearing excuses on Monday morning about why they couldn’t complete the weekend homework....
Those students who always try and find the loopholes in my instructions
When new students start asking me about my personal life
Me thinking I’m just going to try winging my lesson plans this year
When other teachers try sitting with me and my co-teacher while we’re gossiping during lunch
When I get paired with my bestie for lunch duty
Hearing one more teacher talk about how “exciting” and “awesome” this year is going to be
Seeing double the amount of assistant principals
When non-teachers try to tell me how to do my job...
Internal dialogue of me the first week of school
My attitude at the start of the school year
Pretty much half of my class’s excuses for every homework assignment
Seeing former students after summer break
Trying to remember what I taught last year...
