“Un poquito, pequeña.” Héctor greeted Gadget with a smile. “All you have to say is lista instead of listo, because that’s the feminine form of the verb.” He gave her a little clap. “Your enthusiasm is fantastic, what have you done so far?”

“Gracias! As you probably already noticed, my Spanish is still a work in progress.” Gadget laughed and, upon hearing his clap, did a mini curtsy. “It’s what keeps me going. I actually have not done anything aside from unpack.”

Gemma looked over her shoulder from her spot in front of the closet, then turned back to hanging up her things. “I think what’s more important here is that we focus on the power of body language,” she grinned.

Elena was a little shocked. “Well, the Spaniards aren’t shy about things like that, but I’m sure verbal communication would be a lot easier to communicate. I wouldn’t mind tutoring either of you.”

Gadget could also see the difference between her two roommates and that made her believe that the three of them being together will be interesting. “Maybe we should work on learning how to use both verbal and nonverbal? I would love to learn both from you! Are you Spanish?”

“Smart girl. If anything happens, just say my name three times into a mirror and I will personally bring down whomever took your lunch money.” The girl clicked her tongue. “My blood relatives; Greek guilt is a real curse.” Meg said with a dramatic sigh, placing the gift bag safely inside of her backpack. “Well, isn’t that full of youthful joy? I may have had that once…then again, nah, I didn’t.” She shrugged, starting to walk alongside Gadget. “Well, this street is lined up with a couple museums; unless you literally want to go off the tourist grid.”

“No, that’s fine! If someone takes my money, they might need it more than I do. If anything else bad happens though, I will be sure to call you.” Gadget would never be as brave as Meg so she felt lucky that at least she had her watching over her. “I hope it gets to them in one piece then and that they like it.” She looked around for a while until she was spoken to again. “That does not sound like such a bad thing.”, she murmured. “Hmm, that depends on what you mean by off the tourist grid. As long as it’s not something scary, I am up for it.”

“I promise, you’ll love it.” Gemma was sure that Gadget would not, in fact, love it. Still, she parted the beaded curtain and lead her friend into the club. “Here,” she grinned, handing the girl a stack of cash, “Tip well, honey.”

“I am not so sure about that.”, Gadget admitted. This was her first time in a club like this and although she was with someone she trusted, she was still quite nervous. She took the money she was handed then nodded. “Wait, what’s my basis for tipping?”

Tam raised a brow at the blonde’s outburst, holding back a laugh. “No, I think you go it right. But why’re you yelling? I’m sure they know you’re here - I mean, you don’t look like you’re a native or anything. You stand out enough as it is. Not that I can really talk.”

Seeing the way they looked at her, Gadget felt a little embarrassed. “Sorry, I tend to be very loud when I am excited about something. And I am very excited to be here. But, thank you! I will take that as a compliment.” She smiled. “Are you not excited?”

Aurora turned her Spanish notes so Gadget could see them. “Sounded okay to me.” She folded the papers, placing them in her backpack. “I must seem super nerdy, carrying around all my Spanish homework.”

“Yay!” Gadget gazed at the notes she was being showed for a while and shook her head after. “No, it actually makes you look smart! We’re in Spain after all! You may just find the answers you need by asking the locals.”

“Who cares, they all seemed to enjoy it.” Sammy replied, laughing at the girl’s antics. “Now, when you say you’re ready… Do you mean it? Because I only just right now decided you and I are going to have the night of our lives out in this city. Get to know it after dark too, you know?” He said with a wink.

“Not all.”, Gadget corrected as she discreetly pointed an older man who seemed to be annoyed with her energy. “I definitely mean it! But wait.” She raised her eyebrow at him as the latter part of his statement entered her ears. “What’s the difference when it gets dark?”

Violet pretended to look at her phone so she would have something to do instead of just looking t the people staring at them. She gave the other girl a small smile. “I honestly have no idea, I have very limited Spanish knowledge. It sounded cool, though.”

“Neither do I. I just like to pretend that I do.” Gadget laughed, appreciating the fact that the brunette in front of her was somehow more comfortable around her. “What are your plans for today?”

“You said it in masculine. It’s lista.” Hades replied with a shrug. “Apart from that, the pronunciation was surprisingly decent.” He assured the young girl. He had to look over the students roaming the city and had recognised several groups of WDPA people around.

“Take two then! Barcelona, estoy lista para ti!” Gadget’s voice was softer the second time but she tried her best to say it with as much energy as earlier. “Thank goodness. I have been practicing using this book for days.” She lifted her Spanish-English dictionary for him to see.

Adella giggled at what the waiter had just said, her eyes widening when she saw Gadget. She started gesturing for her so she’d see their table. “Ohmygosh, Gadget, you need to try these.” She said, putting a platter of sauce covered potato chips towards her. “They’re amazing, I swear!”

Gadget’s eyes widened at the sight of the dish in front of her but as her curiosity got the better of her, she picked a chip and tried it. “I have done nothing but eat Spanish food and so far, I have not been disappointed.” She picked up a napkin after and used it to wipe the sauce off her face. “You look extra happy today.”

Sky noticed the familiar looking girl standing in line in front of her at the little coffee shop and decided to talk to her. “Gadget! Hi! Are you liking Barcelona?” She asked conversationally, sipping what was left of her last tea. “Do you have any plans for today?”

The girl who spoke to her definitely looked familiar but Gadget cannot match a name with the face, which is why she asked “Hi! I’m so sorry, I do not remember your name.” She picked up a churro and took a sip of her hot chocolate. “I do not have any at the moment! Why?”

Perrie was startled from her trance as someone yelled. When she looked up from the map in her hands, her eyes fell on a familiar face and she couldn’t help the laugh that bubbled up. “Honestly, I wouldn’t know, but I’m glad to see you’re enjoying yourself already!”

“We can pretend then that I did! That would save me from embarrassment.” Gadget laughed as she closed her Spanish-English dictionary and placed it in her backpack for later. “I actually have not done anything! I’m just really excited to explore this place. Have you done anything?”

“I will personally slap the next person that thinks they can rip us off for being tourists.” Meg said with a huff, glaring at the vendor after he finally handed her the packaged snow globes at the right price. “Mas le vale no olvide mi cara; si estos no llegan en una sola pieza, regresaré.” The girl looked to Gadget as they began to leave. “Now that those errands are done with, what do you want to take off your list?”

“It’s a good thing my mom warned me about that possibility. If she didn’t, I would have paid so much more than what I am supposed to.” Feeling bad for the vendor that was selling the snow globes, she smiled at him before facing Meg again. “Who are you giving the snow globes to?”, she asked. “Oh, I actually don’t have a list for this trip! I wanted to just explore for once.”

Gadget was unpacking when she heard one of her roommates speak. The voice was unfamiliar so it definitely wasn’t Gemma. Looking up, she smiled. “Can you be my Spanish tutor? I always wanted to learn how to speak it!”

“Hello!” Raphi chirped as the chime above the door rang out. “Welcome to Wildflower Florist, home of the flowers who haven’t been trained yet…” she paused, realizing her joke wasn’t as funny out loud as it was in her head.

“Hello, Raphi.”, Gadget greeted as she made her way towards the table the other blonde was standing behind. She did not want to be rude so she laughed a little at her joke. “What do you have that is special?”
