Date: 12/6/2020 I think it’s time I put my resource recommendations under one umbrella. Look below for all of my recommendation posts.

My Must-Have Korean Resources My first resource guide, these recommendations cover the basics from learning hangul to my main study materials, as well as some entertainment recs.

Korean Study Material In this post, I go a bit deeper into different types of resources to add to your studying. This covers several youtube channels, webtoons, audiobooks, and a storybook, specifically marked for listening, watching, and/or reading.

Instagram Recommendations for Korean Learners Like the title indicates, this post goes over some of my favorite Korean instagram pages to follow. They cover a variety of topics.

Korean Youtube Channel Recommendations This post is specifically about native Korean youtube channels, so you know you’re getting quality accurate content. The recommendations cover a variety of genres so I think most people will find something they like.

Some images from my most recent trip to Seoul. It’s been so many years since my last visit, it’s always surprising how fast time passes. I met up with several college friends and we realized it’s been over five years since we’d last seen each other. Hi! About your latest post, could you please provide a link that says -겠다 raises the politeness of speech? I know that it is only stating future tense and I do have topik 5 so this is news to me. So in that sentence 나누겠습니다 means “I will share” thank you 😊

Hey there! You're totally right. I don't think I summarized it very clearly and I'll edit my post to reflect that. -겠다 is used in various ways and often is used to express the speaker's intention. However, it is used in sentences that are often more formal than if you were to use -(으)ㄹ 거예요.

It's also used when the speaker is conveying "I bet" or "I guess" as in 아팠겠어요 = I bet that hurt, that must have hurt 걱정했겠어요 = you must have been worried

In this case, Lee Jung Jae says 나누겠습니다 as opposed to 나눌 거예요 or 나눌래요 because it is a more formal occasion.
