Both
get okay with being some level of burden on others, seriously
you know whatâs a real burden? a person that is so scared of leaning on other people that they try to be completely self sufficient and you end up either having to help them indirectly to save their ego or they have to break down in order to receive help, both of which are so much more heavy to the person that loves them than just being leaned on casually
Like our lord and saviour Brennan Lee Mulligan said
People like helping people they care about. Itâs selfish to not let people help you.

Is my cat mean? Yes. However, only I am allowed to say that. if anyone else even suggests she isnt anything but a sweetheart ill throw hands. Me knowing shes mean comes from raising her and seeing her be a dumb lil brat when she wants stuff. Other people saying shes mean comes from them not understanding her boundries and her sequentially lashing out when you cross those boundries which idk doesnt exactly equate to her being a Mean Cat.
my sister was 8 years old when morality police in Tehran stopped us because she wasnât wearing a headscarf. Dad tried to tell them, sheâs only 8, itâs not mandatory until sheâs 10, but it didnât matter to him because she âlookedâ older. She was forced to wear a scarf before he let us go.
The same day another police stopped us because he could glimpse my motherâs ankles, even though she was wearing a long trench coat. She had to buy and put on black tights before he let us go.
In 1997 we got stuck in the airport in Teheran because they âlostâ dadâs passport. Mom ended up leaving with me and my sister, leaving dad behind. Since heâs an Iranian citizen, the Swedish embassy couldnât help even though he also is a Swedish citizen. My uncle went every day to the airport to pester them about the passport. They âfoundâ the passport 2 months later, finally allowing him to fly back to Sweden.
when ordering school photos my dad would always ask the photographer to edit out our cross necklaces in one copy, so that he could send it to our grandparents. He knew it wouldnât be safe in case officials checked the mail and realised we weâre christian.
These are mild examples of the oppression and fear the Iranian people have had to live with for over 40 years, of the oppression Iranian women have had to live under.
i could give a thousand more. the people of Iran are terrorised by itâs government. I could tell you about relatives executed and relatives scattered around the globe. About the per capita executions and the examples of attacks on Iranians outside Iran by agents of the regime. The risks of traveling into Iran as a Iranian citizen.
Iâm just part of the Iranian diaspora. Iâm Iranian, yet not Iranian. Cut off from my heritage due to the risks, due to the distance. Itâs an open wound. A wound that will never have a chance to heal unless the regime falls.
but my wound is a paper cut compared to my dadâs, compared to the Iranians in Iran fighting for freedom and justice. The ones thatâs been truly robbed of their homeland. For that, I have no words.
what weâre seeing now is a fight to reclaim it. A fight for justice for Masha Amini, as well as other women before her -and sadly after her. A fight for human- and womenâs rights.
I can only voice my support.
To have a partner where I can spend time with them, and we donât have to do really anything. We can just be in each others presence, and to accompany one another. It wouldnât matter that it was silent at times, honestly that makes it more lovely. We would be doing our own things, and at times we would chime in now and then and tell the other something small. Giving âI love youâsâ and compliments to break the silence. That would be so lovely to have
men are so gorgeous and loving men is so sacred. i wouldn't give it up for the world.
It's Democracy vs fascism.
Fascists call anything in their way extremist. It's what they do. The 'radical left' is their big insult.
$35 a month for insulin is radical?
You know what is radical? Making personal health care decisions illegal for half the country because conservative male politicians with no medical background fcuking hate women.
It's fun reading writers who clearly grew up in suburban/urban environments as someone who grew up on a farm because they're always like "oh it was so creepy, woods at night, eerily breathtaking, something was living in there..." and it's like yeah that'll be the deer.
EXACTLY
BIDEN IS TRYING TO AMEND TITLE IX TO PROTECT TRANS ATHLETES.
This is currently in its open comment phase and itâs getting bombed by TERFs, surprise surprise.
If you live in the US, you can fight back by leaving your own comment HERE. Donât get cute or make threats, just explain why you think we should protect trans kids. And for fuckâs sake if youâre not actually in the US donât get the idea youâll just use a fake address. This is a government form, doing so can get the entire amendment thrown out.
Spread the word!!!
This isnât just a few crazy Terfs responding to this, itâs a heavily coordinated and directed response from right wing organizations with large groups of followers who are all responding with the same copy and pasted message.
If we have any hope of fighting to protect title IX we need everyone to contribute to this! We need to stop these people from dismantling every anti-discrimination law in the country, because they wonât stop unless we make them.
Also, TO BE CLEAR about how regulations like this work: they LEGALLY NEED to have significant evidence in favor of it in order for it to pass notice & comment. NOT doing that â ignoring huge amounts of data to the contrary, or creating the regulation without doing notice & comment at all â is considered âarbitrary and capriciousâ and can get it thrown out (something that happened A LOT in the Trump administration BECAUSE they didnât bother to do this shit properly).
THEY ARE DOING IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. WE ALSO NEED TO DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME BY SUPPORTING IT.

Im the artist and the gamer. Is that why im alone?
i am so fucking sick and tired of hearing people say âtrans men didnât contribute anything to queer/LGBT/trans historyâ shut up shut up shut up. if you are a trans person and your sexuality is anything other than 100% straight, you have a trans man to thank for your ability to access transition. for a good portion of history, being heterosexual was a requirement for transitioning medically. you literally could not access transition if you were trans and anything but straight because if you were trans and attracted to the same gender, it was held as âproofâ that you were just a straight cis person. lou sullivan, a gay trans man, is one of the most prominent people responsible for getting heterosexuality as a requirement for medical transition removed. he is one of the first people to champion the idea that gender and sexuality are not necessarily always interlinked and that if youâre trans it always comes with being straight. you have a trans man to thank for your ability to access transition care at all if you are trans and queer. donât fucking forget that.
