i do think trans men having to perform femininity enough to be "allowed" into queer spaces is a problem. like is this not weird to you? is expecting trans men to perform at least enough femininity to make YOU feel comfortable with how THEY look not coming off as at least a little transphobic?

listen, and here me out here: trans men deserve to be comfortable. every time i hear something about "(cis) women deserve to be comfortable" it is ALWAYS at the expense of trans men and our belonging and safety in spaces that we helped build. your issue isnt with trans men (unless youre transphobic), trans men arent cis men, trans men are still direct victims of the cispatriarchy and misogyny, trans men have oftentimes BEEN VICTIMS of cis men (as well as women, cis and trans, but thats a little too woke for y'all ive found). trans men deserve to be comfortable in queer spaces as much as women do and the key difference is that trans men as a group arent expecting women to effectively detransition parts of themselves to make us more comfortable. trans mens needs to be comfortable in queer spaces is largely to be in spaces that are understanding and accepting of transmasculine people and the transmasculine experience. if womens needs to be comfortable in queer spaces is for trans men to either feminize ourselves or not be there, that is a problem

"trans men transition to put themselves in a place of privilege above women and to benefit from misogyny rather than suffer from it" is literally TERF rhetoric. That is a key part of what TERFs believe. If you believe this too, you're at best just another transphobe.

I want to add something here.

TERFs believe this is the intention behind why trans men transition.

But depending on the specific flavor of TERF, they may not actually believe trans men attain male privilege, because they believe in Immutable Biological Female Sex Oppression, and they believe trans men are female.

This is a really important part of this because it's why you have people saying "transandrophobia theory" sounds like TERF rhetoric— because they've directly heard TERFs actually say "feeeemales are oppressed for being female even if they identify as men" because this IS a thing that TERFs actually say.

Obviously, trans men saying "hey I'm oppressed because I'm a trans man" isn't the same as the TERF theory of Sex Based Oppression (namely because trans men demonstrably have it worse than cis women and TERFs will 100% ignore this always).

I think people on here just need to get normal about the fact there are some sorts of Men who are oppressed for their gender.
