Hey, I'm Immi. This is a personal blog used primarily for various fandom things. What does that mean? We just don't know. Spoilers are usually marked, but things can slip through the cracks on occasion, and I very rarely post something from a series I am not entirely caught up on. Feel free to spam my Ask Box whenever. Um… hello. Hi. Big fan here. Heard you were reading Witch Hat Atelier. Is there any chance we’ll be getting new chapter write ups? Asking for a friend. (ps: that friend is me.)

I won't say there's no chance, but I don't know this series anywhere near as well as certain past ones. Diving right in when I'm in the shallow end of the pool is how to get a concussion and all.

But I'll give you one random guess for free because I guess I like you.

MANGA SPOILERS

This is by no means very deep, but I think that part of the purpose in experimenting with the Silverwood trees is exposing outsiders to magic. The more available, the less control witches have over who interacts with the ink. If they try to exert control, questions will start, and if they don't, people will begin figuring it all out. Without rigid cultural taboos, you're going to end up with plenty of people just like Custas, or just like Coco. That's likely to, at the very least, increase the number of people sympathetic to the Brimmed Caps. If the Knights Moralis then start taking their usual route, you have the very obvious problem of witches terrorizing people for no apparent reason. Unless they wipe every single memory, knowledge will escape, and fear of Pointed Caps will rightfully grow. Forbidden magic will mean safety.

And without any education on how bad that can go, there's really no reason not to push it further, and there's no reason at all to keep from sharing it. The true safety is in knowledge, and the Pointed Caps have seized that. Clearly anyone who works against that monopoly is in the right.

Leading to an endgame of freedom for Brimmed Caps almost by default. Whether that's the final note or just the barrier to entry, they can pretty much do whatever they want.

Sending a recommendation for Witch Hat Atelier.

Nvm, noticed you're already following it.

It's a good rec! I've really enjoyed my time with it so far. There's a level of care taken with the story that I treasure. My favorite thing about fantasy/sci-fi is worldbuilding, and it's doing a great job with that.

For anyone thinking about checking it out, if you vibe with Owl House, Studio Ghibli, and Psycho-Pass, I think you should give it a shot. It's about the wonder of magic and the fear of what humans do with power, and the culture that arises from that. The anime's airing right now and it looks gorgeous. Though my understanding is that it's very far behind the manga, so take caution in the tags and so forth.

What does it mean when you tag a post #1 #2 #3 #4 ?

I think they've updated it out, but it used to be that only the first five tags of a post would determine which tags the post appeared in. So if you didn't want to come up with a unique tag for stuff, but didn't think the general fandom really needed to hear about it, just tagging random stuff for the first five was a good workaround. At this point I keep to it out of habit/optimistic hope that it still works.
