More coloring practice, now with 80′s throwback flavor.

“Midnanatomy”

I got tired practicing musculature and bones with boring bald humans so I tried to apply it to a character I actually like drawing.

Weird spider lady! She makes cloth out of her silk to sell to travelers. Her name is Anise.

She’s related to these two. 

Their stories have changed somewhat, but it still involves a bunch of weird shiny bug people so I have a lot of fun drawing it.

I was messing with a few actiony Ausa drawings and I thought these were good enough to splash some color on.

He didn’t have to, but I really appreciate him for trying, and this is the least I can do for him. Its a little wonky but I hope its okay!

Lex is the chief science officer of a research ship charged with cataloging and documenting the flora and fauna of alien planets. Energetic and headstrong, her innate curiosity makes her ideally suited for her job, but combined with her stubbornness it can cause her to be reckless in the face of danger.

Jay is the captain of the research ship and travels with Lex to her jobsites. While technically her boss, he has little experience with wildlife and acts as more of an assistant/bodyguard as well as a diplomat when it comes to worlds with sentient creatures. Usually cool and collected, he can lose his composure when a situation begins to spiral out of his control.

Looking back at drawings and ideas I've left unfinished, I decided to go back to this old story idea to finally finish up the designs for the titular main characters: Jay and Lex. They're pretty much opposites of each other in design, personality and skillsets so they're a lot of fun to play off of one another. Hopefully I'll end up doing more with these two cause I like them a lot!

Some more of my bio-weapon meta-human hunter, Ausa. Her hands on approach often results in her getting torn up by the creeps she brings in, but her healing factor patches her back up fast! Went for an old comic book look on these ones.
