Carter chuckled. “I know, I’d like to say this isn’t my first rodeo, but it is. But I guess a part of me figured that with a super powered sister, I’d end up in this sort of situation at some point.”

Heidi sighed softly “There’s always going to be something like this unfortunately, it comes with the territory of doing what we do. I just hope that you can acclimatize to it quickly- because there is definitely only the beginning. I can feel the change in the air, like that of a storm about to hit” she admitted.

Carter laughed. “Sure, there’s a hole to the kitchen next door, used to be an old booze running entrance.” He said. “Doesn’t change my mind, I’m staying here. I’m Thana’s older brother, I have no plans on outliving her.” He added.

“It might be something you want to make clear for yourself just in case, some of these villains have building crushing abilities. I really wouldn’t want you to get hurt at all” she nodded. “I get that, I mean...Well. Kinda. I don’t have family, but I understand someones need to protect the one they have”

Carter let out a sigh. “I was arguing with Thana about that a couple of weeks ago. She says I should just go to our parents place. But I’m already planning on a black out and just holing up here. She’s already chucked a good handful of bodies around the shop and can summon them in a pinch. There’s also my offer of using my shop as a way station. Or a med bay. The tower’s on the other side of town.” He remarked.

“I mean, are you sure that is wise? We have no idea what these villains are planning to do. They could easily blow this row of buildings up for all we know?” she then pursed her lips “Is there at least some sort of basement area here that you can go underground with?” she wondered, taking a breath and clicking her tongue.

Carter chuckled and had sip of coffee. “Always, I once needed a guy to open a door for me in a time crunch and he was on the toilet and I nearly missed getting on stage in time.” He said. Carter then watched as Lev wandered around and hung by the woman’s side.

“Hah! That’s the best” she laughed out, watching the cat that wandered around her feet, having always had a strange connection with animals. They definitely were more in tune to the spirit realm than any human was. “How are you getting on with the current city situation, do you have plans on where to go if evacuated?”

“If she’s working on something new she’s probably ignoring her phone.” Carter said as he took a sip of coffee. “But if you want, you’re welcome to look around. And don’t worry about Lev,” He added since he’d noticed that the kitten had managed to gotten off the counter. “Just, don’t let him out.”

“Ugh, it’s always the case when you really need someone isn’t it?” she sighed and licked her lips, her gaze then going to the cat “I probably spook him...I am not exactly of this world and I know that cats don’t like that” she admitted, smiling down to the kitten “I promise I won’t hurt you little guy...I’m just connected to the other side, that’s all”

“I tried, but I guess either my phone isn’t working or hers isn’t. Or shes on patrol, maybe training” she rambled and came to lean against the counter. “Yeah, trust me I know all too well where she’d end up, I want her to avoid that for as long as possible”

Carter was on coffee mug number two as he sat on the back perch with Lev on the main counter, splayed out napping. He’s hoped that despite the blown up bridge he wouldn’t lose too many sales. “Welcome to Radiance!” He said when the bell above the door rang.

Heidi had been hoping to come across Thana and with not knowing where she was in HQ, she figured Radiance would be the next best place. “Oh, Hey, Good Afternoon” she beamed, looking around in hopes of spotting the girl “I uh, your sister isn’t round here is she?” she wondered awkwardly, stepping forward further into the shop.

Name: Heidi Winters Alias: Medium Affiliation: Heroes Union Role: Member Powers: Ghost abilities, trapped between the Earth and Spirit plain, Future sight.

Heidi was always a timid creature, she was in a long standing relationship with Sasha Scream until Sasha broke them up for the fact that Heidi couldn’t keep up with her and she was worried that Heidi would end up getting hurt. Heidi did not take it well and tried her best to win Sasha back, one day wearing her grandmothers expensive diamond necklace to show herself off knowing that Sasha would be interviewing at Radio Super One. But on the way to Sasha she ended up getting hit by an ambulance and ‘dying’. The woman had awoken and was surrounded by baffled doctors who felt she should have died, it was then that Heidi had realised her expensive diamond necklace was missing and that she was left with a tattoo of the same necklace around her neck, along with being joined by the spirit of a woman- who explained that by nearly dying Heidi had released her spirit from the necklace and had now trapped her own in it and that when she died, she would be trapped in the necklace until the next person wearing it had a near death experience and released her. With this Heidi gained the ability to shift between physical and spirit form, allowing her to visit Limbo and speak to those that had died, along with being able to go through walls, she decided to become a Hero when she came across Lucky Day in the ‘beyond’ and felt that it was another way she could get back together with Sasha. Heidi was almost destroyed by a villain called ‘Priest’ who tried to pull the necklace from her to gain her powers. In the end Heidi helped the previous occupant of the necklace pass over and now leads her life as a hero with her brand new abilities.

She smiled at her girlfriend then raised an eyebrow at her confession, “Your room could never be a mess, your room has a better view..” She stated but backed down as she didn’t want to have an argument. “We can go to my room and I’m bringing the cake.” She hummed, taking the container in one hand and Heidi’s hand in the other. Sasha walked down the corridor towards her bedroom. She walked into her room, closing the door behind her and putting the container down. Sasha placed her hands gently onto Heidi’s cheeks, placing a soft kiss onto her lips.

“Trust me, the mess in there could be considered Un-Godly by most” The blonde laughed softly, not liking that she’d made an internal joke about the dead woman that had been in there, since it wasn’t at all natural. “That’s a deal” she hummed, lacing their fingers together and then following after her. Once the two were alone she happily kissed her and then pulled away “You’re really back” she hummed, touching their noses together.

“Settling? Who’s settling? I would pick you every lifetime,” she grinned at her. Sasha hummed softly as she kept her eyes onto her girlfriend. “I would very much like to start that quality time we need right now,” she stated as she cut two slices of cake, putting them onto two plates. “What do you say?” she asked, swiping some frosting onto her finger and wiping it onto her girlfriend’s nose with a grin.

“Good, I just wanted to be sure” she laughed, before she then sighed, cupping her girlfriends cheek and stroking her soft skin, she then wrinkled her nose and yipped at the frosting swiped onto her nose “Then by all means, lead the way....I’d say your room is a safer bet, since uh....Mine is an absolute mess” she admitted, Not wanting to admit to the recently reanimated confused woman locked in there.

“Gluten-free people.” She countered with a soft laugh then frowned, pressing a kiss onto her lips softly, “I’m not going anywhere, not without you anyway,” She promised in a whisper, gently placing her free hand onto her girlfriend’s cheek, looking into her eyes, “I never stopped thinking about you and I’m incredibly sorry that I was gone for so long. What can I do to make it up to you?” She asked, leaning forwards and placing a soft kiss onto the nape of Heidi’s neck.

“Well you’ve got me there” she mused, placing a gentle kiss in return “Good, because I just wonder why someone like you would settle for me” she mused, leaning into her touch and giving a content little sigh “Just stay with me, you aren’t allowed to go anywhere else” she giggled, her eyelids fluttering “We can have the quality time we’ve both really needed?”

“Gods, I could deal without a primordial force seeing me as competition.” Thana said with a groan. “That just seems exhausting. And I’m no good in a fight where one party’s immortal.” she added as she also collapsed onto the bedroom floor.

“Well, I mean it’d make perfect sense....They always say in mythology books that the Gods were jealous when mortals got too close to being like them, it’s all just a pissing war really” The blonde laughed, stretching herself out like a starfish.

“Well, that’s a threat if any....” she grumbled, before shaking her head “I should have put you in a box and left you on the other side, not just let you wander around over there. “At least you’ve given up on your clear ridiculous ambition then” she murmured referencing the jewelry items, before she then almost gave a snap of a hiss at him. “I’ll see you properly imprisoned, that I can assure you”

Thana shrugged. “That’s a comforting thought, doubt it’s true, but like… it’s a nice thought truly. I must seem like some sort of demon for what I do. Ripping people’s bodies up from their peaceful afterlife, assuming the afterlife is any form of peaceful.” She muttered.

“Maybe Death just sees you as a challenger and that’s why it likes to mess with you? Can’t say that I’d like all my hard work undone so easily with just a touch if I was Death” she laughed softly, setting her arms behind her head as she lay back to relax better.

“I got Thanatos 10 minutes later so I think it’s either “Death has many faces” thing or they all alternate.” Thana said with a shrug. “And seeing as I was 13 at the time, I definitely wasn’t stoned.” She stated. 

“Maybe it is literally just death appearing how it thinks you perceive it, I mean thats always my opinion of what it’ll be like when I meet death, it’ll be the face of someone I love or someone I’ve admired” she then clicked her tongue “Hey maybe when I saw Lucky in the afterlife, that was really just death messing with me?” she wondered.
