i was fully planning on playing crisis core reunion next but i hear its actually a 100% faithful recreation of the original so since i just played that i might skip it for now? ngl i thought it was part of the remake saga lol. i played the first 20 minutes or so of it though and it actually kinda pisses me off i didnt just play reunion instead i probably couldve enjoyed the story more if i didn't have to deal with all the myriad little annoyances in the combat of the original that are completely gone in reunion

i think the biggest sticking point between me and ff7 remake is that i just really really think it's righteous and noble and heroic and goodhearted and an immensely loving act to destroy fascist infrastructure and avalanche did literally nothing wrong and they have absolutely nothing to feel bad about or regret about the reactor bombings in the slightest and i will not ever be convinced otherwise by man or god

ok beat ff7 remake, its pretty good i think. its like if the guy that made kingdom hearts made final fantasy 7 and thats because it is that. obviouslyyyyy they shouldve called it something else lmao but since i knew it'd be different going in im just thinking of the remake trilogy as sequels, and in those terms it was cool and fun and im hype to see what theyre planning even if its... not really ff7 in the end lol

weird thought but in the universe of the remake does midgar use wutai's written language? in the original they had a lot of greek characters but it seems like that's been pretty much done away with in the remake and all the signs are in japanese. i kinda like that if so. another effect of the appropriation and commodification of wutai's culture
