Mostly FF. Smatterings of other games, Bump of Chicken, occasional anime and manga, everything I find funny, and cat.

Random ramblings. Just typing my thoughts about few games from SGF to sort them out, since SGF happened early dawn for me so when it ended I immediately conk out to bed lol and after that busy geeking for FFVIIR3, I only write these down now. And we technically still in (not)E3 gaming hype week anyway

Stranger Than Heaven: RGG, this... this ain't it. Idk about others but for this case, bringing Tupac who has passed away to digitally act feels like... violation? of their existence. Or maybe of some basic decency. Ok we do have Toshiro Mifune likeness used for Onimusha while Bunta Sugawara also casted in this very same game. Both had passed away years ago. But in these cases they were actors whom previous works are relevant to the subject at hand. Mifune famously played a samurai in movie, Onimusha is about a samurai. Sugawara's works probably inspired Yakuza game series in first place. So the desire to cast these men in these games is at least understandable, tho if it's acceptable is still up to debate. But Tupac? What's man got anything to do with Yakuza drama set in 20th century Japan?? Like what's the point? Because so far this only look like stunt casting. Normal stunt cast is eyeroll inducing enough, stunt casting dead man? Another level of yikes. Having Snoop Dog in this already feels iffy, this push it further. Well maybe down the line the dev could present justification for their decision idk. But that latest trailer had dampened my interest considerably instead. This game had gone from 'Very interested might preorder' to 'eeeeh if the review is very very good I might get it down the line when it's on discount'. Which is a shame since the story sound good and I kinda liked Yakuza series. But really RGG had some weird casting decisions these last few years... (Well in Jan I will be busy with Evercold anyway so this works out lol)

Various games: All these 'swordsmen-in-old-Eastern-Asia-setting-action-games' kinda blended together now tbh. Same with these numerous cell-shaded-anime-mobile-games. I can't recognize what is what anymore. I think I'm getting old...

that another stellar blade game: "Hey we used our Tits&Ass card, what else we can do to attract more dubious audience?" "Make our new girl mc have 10 years old face to bait the pedo?" "Genius. Kid face but with adult body full booty and of course super skintight outfit for that naked-look-with-plausible-deniability. Objectifying women: the game, onwards!" ..............Sigh. This kind of thing is why I never want to call myself gamer even tho gaming is big part of my life. It's so normalized and of course most won't bat any eye again. Business as usual. Again, sigh.

Control Resonant: very interesting vibe and imagery. Nice.

Virtua Fighter Crossroads: I know absolutely nothing about this IP, but did they allow a main woman character to age? Wrinkle, visible nasolabial folds and all? PRAISE BE

SF6: Lol. My first impulse is wanting to do wellness check on Tekken fanbase. You guys ok? With the game's directors leaving recently, and now after years and years of asking for Tifa, she finally appear...... in another fighting game. They had it rough. RIP.

FFVII Revelation: YEEEEEESSS!!!!!!111 YEEEEEEEESSSSSHHH!!!!!!! So far everything sound good and after Rebirth I have faith they can stick the landing. Spring 2027, eh? Not so bad. I thought they would want to release it 31 Jan for the 30th anniversary, but after Evercold was announced for Jan.. maybe not. Prob can have anniversary events doubling up as marketing hype all throughout Jan to Feb, then release in March/April? Anyway I think this strengthen the fan theory that the next FFXIV expansion will take inspiration from FFVII this time. It would make a good brand synergy. (after the supposed synergy with Dawntrail and FFIX was bust since IX remake seemingly got shelved. It only make me miss IX even more sobs. But there's no shelving FFVIIR3 this time!)
