Jacksepticeye turned me into a slut for good lighting in media. I’ve always adored lighting in the real world, growing up in a place deemed “The Natural State” will do that when you find those moments of quiet and beauty, and it never really clicked how important it is in video games and other media to make it feel real and add proper atmosphere until I saw how enamored Jack was by good lighting in games.
As most recent example, Resident Evil: Requiem: an absolutely fantastic, stunning game (both looks wise and story wise). The red lighting in the dark damp underground. The sterile white lights in the ARK labs. The muted white in the Rhodes Hill center in the wings and treatment areas mixed with the warms lights in the rooms built for meetings and lounging. The moonlight, the fire, the damn flashlights. The dry sunlight in the ruins of Raccoon City, how dry and dead it feels in the place it all began. The RPD still having that blue tint while being dry and lifeless, hopeless almost.
When lighting feels like a character, the story will always have a great impact.
And my interpretation may not be everyone else’s and that’s okay! I just wanted to share my thoughts and give credit to the man that showed me how important good lighting can be 🫶🏼🫶🏼
I think for a long time Huntr/x would be really proud of never having any of those “idol fainting on stage” incidents because they’re pretty public about how well they’re treated and how good their manager is. They know they’re a rarity in an industry full of abuse and overwork, and they want to try to set an example of better treatment for artists.
But they’re also Hunters, and shit happens. I think at some point one of them might try to perform without being fully healed from a recent hunt.
Rumi’s right in the middle of a solo moment, spotlight on her, singing her heart out, when suddenly she just gets dizzy and the stage lights aren’t helping and she just drops like a wet rag. Mira’s going through some intense choreography, which she loves, and the crowd is eating it up, but a recent injury is being irritated the more she moves and eventually the pain gets so overwhelming she just crumples to the floor. Zoey is in the middle of a rap, and gradually the audience loses the ability to understand her, thinking maybe she’s just going way too fast but eventually realizing she’s getting quieter and becoming unintelligible before she slumps over.
The show would stop IMMEDIATELY. No one is even waiting for crew members. The other two are getting their third member off the stage themselves. There’s chaos backstage. Two of them guarding the injured one, trying not to let anyone see the evidence of their demon hunting without looking suspicious. Gently coaxing them back to consciousness. Taking them home to get their wound looked at again. Any shows within the next few weeks cancelled immediately.
But the worst part would then be how the fans, in a misguided effort to look out for them, dogpile on Bobby for marketing Huntr/x as a well-managed group where the girls are properly fed and get time to rest and are never overworked or exploited, only for one of his idols to faint on stage and “expose him”. Fans start to think he forced the girls to say all those nice things about him. #FreeHuntr/x starts trending. No matter how many times they say “she was just sick, it was nobody’s fault, things happen”, it takes a really long time for it to die down. Bobby takes it like a champ and doesn’t blame the girls at all (why would he?) but they blame themselves for the hit his reputation took.
Rumi getting a demon heat/rut outside of a/b/o fic is deeply intriguing to me.
Can you imagine how weird that kind of behavioral shift would be to ordinary humans? Rumi, normally the calm one, the last one to join in Mira and Zoey’s antics, suddenly on edge and mean? Suddenly territorial, suddenly not allowing anyone close, besides the people she loves most?
Plus there might even be a cute little moment where they figure out what the problem is and hide Rumi away til it passes only for Bobby to unexpectedly show up. Mira and Zoey freak out because Rumi literally almost bit the food delivery guy yesterday but Rumi is just like ‘oh🥰 Bobby is here🥰 Hi Bobby!’ And lightly headbutts him.
as someone who is sex-repulsed aro ace, there’s nothing that boils my blood more is the “but ace and aro people can have sex” CONSTANTLY pushed by non aces and aro. first off, let people and Character just not have sex. Second, you are NEVER saying that for the benefit of us, you’re saying that because you want to see this person/character screw someone because you’re fine with fetishizing us. it’s inexcusable when it’s gay people but whatever for aces and aros. I’m so so grossed out by this.
This is such a good point! "ace people can still have sex" is never said by allo people to validate non-sex-repulsed ace people, it's said to make an excuse for putting ace people in smut fics and rule 34 art without having to feel guilty.

No but to be serious guys i didnt expect that movie to be that kind of good. I expected great fights. I expected complicated morals. I did not expect that movie to say i know everything seems hopeless but you dont get a choice, you have to try. I did not expect that movie to say when we are up against an impossible, unjust threat the only way through is freely given kindness and forgiveness. I did not expext that movie to say the real way villans win is by preying on those we’ve already decided are hopeless. I did not expect that movie to say we all have to believe we can get better. Please believe me we can all get better. Oh my god.
all the people saying there's a lot of changes made between the movies and the comics and that yelena is not necessarily aroace in the mcu would have had a different reaction if she was a lesbian in the comics and being shipped with a man
Lately people dismissing that has been getting on my nerves VERY much, so I’m making this post lol.
First the terminology:
Aromantic — an individual who doesn’t experience romantic attraction.
Asexual — an individual that doesn’t experience sexual attraction.
AroSpec — spectrum that includes different aromantic identities, from aros who don’t feel romantic attraction to those who do under certain circumstances or rarely.
AceSpec — spectrum that includes different asexual identities, from aces who don’t feel sexual attraction to those who do under certain circumstances or rarely.
*note that some aroace’s choose to use only asexual to define their sexual orientation. not both are and ace, kinda like bisexuals don’t say biromanic, bisexual, just bisexual.*
So first thing i will put here is this;
This in my humble opinion should be enough of a proof, but apparently it is not.
First this part of an interview, the person speaking is a creator/co-creator of Yelena. She says she is most likely to identify as asexual than to follow Nat’s romantic path. Hinting at both aro & ace.
So in the comics Yelena shows no interest dating, as far as i am aware she has no romantic interest in the comics. She is repulsed by sex, she calls herself „nothing” referring to her sexual identity.
As much as many like to say she is a lesbian, she is not, how fucking stupid you sound, honestly. She says it herself, if I said I’m not a lesbian, would you question it? No? Then don’t question her, she says she is not a lesbian, she has no wlw storyline. Drop the fucking lesbian hc.
Some possible foreshadowing in the MCU
1. When she is talking with a widow and a former Ana (show: Hawkeye), there is a line said by the widow accompanying her: „…you and Natasha can be reunited again and live your sex in the city fantasy”.
^ Yelena leaves the room, as soon as the word „sex” is mentioned her face drops, then we have this scene where she’s looking at herself in the mirror.
2. When talking about kids and family (movie: Black Widow) she mentions she wants a dog.
3. When describing „fake story” of her life she made up because her birth certificate was burnt she says Natasha has a husband and talks about her parents, but mentions nothing about her husband or possible spouses or children. (movie: Black Widow)
4. Yelena tends to wear a lot of aro/ace flag colors.
green coat & purple lipstick (green = aro | purple = ace)
yellow & blue colors = aroace flag
Overall Yelena wears a lot of green and white and black together, aromantic flag colors.
^^ can you call that „over the top?” yeah sure… let me remind yall something else:
when enid wore this sweather yall went WILD.
but when Yelena is wearing aroace colors all the time it’s called „reaching”…?
I will continue this with even more, because while you can agree with me and say she is aroace, still there will be people who claim she is aroace, agree, but then this fucking argument comes into place:
„AROS CAN DATE”
„ACES CAN FUCK”
„QPRS EXIST”
Do you see what’s wrong with those sentences? Nothing.
There’s a „but” thoooo…
There is nothing wrong with those, but using those arguments to totally ignore her sexuality ship her and treat her like suddenly she is allo is not it.
Yelena has shown no interest in dating or sex, we can assume she is sex-repulsed as she has shows repulsion to sex and she is to me at least implied to be romance-repulsed.
And we’ve found the problem.
Sex Repulsed Aces are as you can imagine repulsed by sex. Romance Repulsed Aros are repulsed by romance… So how is someone repulsed by said things engaging in said interaction and is not repulsed by them???
I think it’s a great idea to write her into said situations to show she is repulsed and to show it’s okay, because her life, my life, the lives of other uninterested in such thing aro/ace, our lives don’t end here.
Using how some people navigate through their sexuality to justify this is wrong.
You wouldn’t write a lesbian with a man, because bi lesbians exist and she may be a bi lesbian, right?
^ just an fyi, that’s an example, the term bi-lesbian is extremely harmful to both bisexuals and lesbians. check out this for more.
The QPR dilemma is that you don’t understand what a QPR is… it’s not more than friends…it’s not in the middle, it’s out of the regular binary of relationships. Relationships I actually think are QPRs:
Friends with benefits — purely platonic, but you fuck.
Situationship — just friends that do romantic stuff together, unless you call it a romantic relationship, with the other person agreeing on that, it is not one.
QPRs are amazing and beautiful, but it’s not always about fucking and kissing and „acting like a couple” but being a QPR. It can be being friends and living together, not temporary. It can be being friends and co-parenting. It can be many things.
But as I said Yelena is repulsed, why would someone repulsed by sex/romance engage in said thing happily with no doubts, fears, negative feelings just because it’s a qpr, so it’s suddenly fine…?
This is for now all I have to say about this.
As an AroAce, who desires no romantic relationship or a sexual one please please please let us have this representation, for once in our fucking lives.

It was admittedly not the most popular week but due to the delay and a special idea for pride month I think this will work out the best. Prompts:
A Call To Arms - Light the Cannons for Lightcannon!
Lightcannon Week is coming in one month, baby! And it's also Pride month RIGHT NOW! So I want to issue a challenge to everyone out there interested in the Little Crack Ship That Could.
For all of Pride Month, and later for Lightcannon Week, I want everyone who can to write as many good Lightcannon fics as they can.
Why's this important? Well, because Lightcannon (Jinx/Lux) is currently, and has been for more than a year, both Jinx's and Lux's top tag on Ao3.
That's right, both characters have more fics about this silly, crazy, non-canon crack ship than any of their 'canon' romantic interests. That's wild, and I'm so proud of my Little Crack Ship.
But after we hit 1000 fics last year (WOOHOO) we slowed down, bad. And that means the crown is at risk.
Timebomb is catching up fast, it was less than 1000 fics a few months ago and now it's only forty fics behind. When Arcane S2 drops, if there are Timebomb themes, people will be writing about that, if there aren't, people will be writing copium fics (nothing wrong with that, we all do it) but either way, the Ekko/Jinx tag is gonna get a deluge, and Lightcannon supremacy could be at an end.
Now, I wanna preface this - I don't have anything against Timebomb, it's a fine and valid ship. I'm just hyper competitive and I'm proud of our girlies being the top of their tags. We get so little, everything we have to our name means so much to me.
I don't want to lose the crown. And there's only one way to keep it.
We gotta WRITE, fam!
So here's my call to arms!
Write! AUs! Prompts! Main canon fics! Star Guardians, Valoran Town, Battle Academia, modern romance, pirates, ninjas, robots, anything you wanna!
Short fics will bump those numbers quicker! Don't let it stop you from writing longform, but I recognize that me and my 30 chapter epics aren't boosting them like one-shots would be 😅so for LC week I'm committed to keeping to shorter fics. I swear.
