where i stand on Wednesday ships in case yalls were curious.

Wenvier/Wavier: Ship it! Tend to prefer fanon over canon (hard to say if its dynamic or plot it’s a bit of both). think that if any ship were gonna happen fr this might be the most realistic. don’t 100% know how I feel about it being canon in that in order for it to happen well a lot has to be done first that hasn’t happened yet. I think it could work because Xavier isn’t at all put off by her demeanor even from the start he loves it. So I think once they work the miscommunication and set clear boundaries they could actually be really cute!

Wyler/Weyler: Ship it! usually canon over fanon. (dynamic not plot) probably will never happen again. Honestly as much as I adore it, I’m not sure I want it to come back. They ran their course kinda. I just need tyler to be redeemed and while I believe that he truly loved wednesday, he really hurt her. and he knows that. if anything they just need to be friends rn. would be okay with it coming back under very specific circumstances. Similar with Wenvier, tyler was never put off by Wednesday. He followed her around like a puppy in awe of her strength and intelligence. And tyler’s truama plays into nicely as well, where he’s never fit anywhere and just needs a companion to be around. And wednesday provides that. He never cared so much about the what as long as he was included. They didn’t have to talk and plans could change. He just needed to be wanted. Wheras wednesday wanted a intelligent companion to offer advice and assistance with out stepping on her toes. Someone who understood her need to be left alone.

Wenclay (wednesday and bianca): ship it! fanon or canon! totally not realistic but I just think they’re super fun. if wednesday was gonna date a girl I’d want it to be bianca (but i love me sone biancaxlucas action too). would love to see it happen someday haha. Can’t even explain this one other than matched wit badass sapphic couple.

Wenclair: Don’t ship it! It’s cute and all just not my thing. I think they’re too good as friends and I don’t wanna jeopardize or change that it any way. I don’t honestly think it would work that well either. I personally think wednesday would need someone similarly macabre or at least similar attitude. However I totally agree that Enid is queer in some fashion.

a quick psa to anyone recently getting into greek mythology and is a victim of tumblr and/or tiktok misconceptions:

-there is no shame in being introduced to mytholgy from something like percy jackson, epic the musical or anything like that, but keep in mind that actual myths are going to be VERY different from modern retellings

-the myth of medusa you probably know (her being a victim of poseidon and being cursed by athena) isn't 100% accurate to GREEK mythology (look up ovid)

-there is no version of persephone's abduction in which persephone willingly stays with hades, that's a tumblr invention (look up homeric hymn to demeter)

-as much as i would like it, no, cerberus' name does not mean "spot" (probably a misunderstanding from this wikipedia article)

-zeus isn't the only god who does terrible things to women, your fav male god probably has done the same

-on that note, your fav greek hero has probably done some heinous shit as well

-gods are more complicated than simply being "god of [insert thing]", many titles overlap between gods and some may even change depending on where they were worshipped

-also, apollo and artemis being the gods of the sun and the moon isn't 100% accurate, their main aspects as deities originally were music and the hunt

-titans and gods aren't two wholly different concepts, titan is just the word used to decribe the generation of gods before the olympians

-hector isn't the villain some people make him out to be

-hephaestus WAS married to aphrodite. they divorced. yes, divorce was a thing in ancient greece. hephaestus' wife is aglaia

-ancient greek society didn't have the same concepts of sexuality that we have now, it's incorrect to describe virgin goddesses like artemis and athena as lesbians, BUT it's also not wholly accurate to describe them as aromantic/asexual, it's more complex than that

-you can never fully understand certain myths if you don't understand the societal context in which they were told

-myths have lots and lots of retellings, there isn't one singular "canon", but we can try to distinguish between older and newer versions and bewteen greek and roman versions

-most of what you know about sparta is probably incorrect

-reading/waching retellings is not a substitute to reading the original myths, read the iliad! read the odyssey! i know they may seem intimidating, but they're much more entertaining than you may think

greek mythology is so complex and interesting, don't go into it with preconcieved notions! try to be open to learn!

Little things that improved my life 𝜗𝜚˚⋆

Accepting my sleep schedule. I'm a night owl; I focus at night, I'm calm at night, I'm motivated at night. For a long time, I tried to fight this since everyone always preaches getting up early, but since I started accepting my natural sleep schedule, I've been feeling a lot better and have become way more productive.

"drink more water". TEA. Tea is the secret here. I will be honest, I hate drinking water; it doesn't matter if I have a cute water bottle or a cute glass, I still hate it. TEA.

Replying quickly. I used to be one of those people who get a text message and think, "Oh, I'll reply to that later", and then just forget about it entirely. Now, I text back as soon as I see the message. This has not only improved my texting anxiety (which I cause on my own by now replying and then feeling bad) but also deepened my connection to my friends. <3

Keeping my circle small and being okay with that. Over the past months, I've had this sudden urge to expand my social circle and get to know more and more people, especially after I moved in August. However, this quickly ended in what I like to call my "social burnout". I was tired, annoyed, and overwhelmed. It took a few weeks for it to settle, but I've come to the conclusion that I would much rather have a smaller circle of people who I trust and love deeply than a huge group of friends, and that's totally okay.

Wearing what I like. Even though I live in a big city, I'd still say that my style can sometimes be a bit more extravagant than what most people wear, another point is that I'm very uncomfortable with pants so I only wear skirts, which is also considered a bit odd where I live. But over the past years, I've come to accept that and have become so sure of myself and found such comfort in my style that I now just wear whatever I like, and it makes every day a little bit nicer.

Reading and writing for pleasure. Reading books outside of my studies and spending time researching topics that simply interest me is such a great way to calm your mind. Same for writing, I always like to say that to write is to think; putting your thoughts on paper in cohesive and well-crafted sentences that you can then reread and think over again is such a liberating thing to do.

Reaching out more. fuck the whole "double texting" and "no contact" thing. If you want to speak to someone because they mean something to you, then just do it. Unless they specifically asked for space, you shouldn't feel bad about wanting to be in touch with them. Many even really appreciate it when you show that you truly care. Let's stop the nonchalant act, and instead, let's face deep emotions and true vulnerability. <3
