MORE INFO: Remy has the distinct pleasure of enjoying the King's trust as a member of his royal guard and a watchman. He grew up on the streets of the Royal Village (the further from the castle, the crowded, dirtier, and shadier it gets), but managed to find himself in the royal family's good graces when he thwarted an attempt on the King's consort's life. He was brought into the castle as compensation and now finds himself in a powerful position as any commoner could get, with the ear of the King. Unbeknownst to said King, Remy has fallen hard for a royal princess. And the feeling is mutual. As much as the King holds Remy in great regard, he would NEVER allow a princess to have any sort of relationship with a common man, let alone a romantic one. The Princess has managed to get out of several betrothals, much to both of their reliefs, BUT they know that won't last. She has a duty to the royal family. And Remy has his own. But it is difficult to deny what exists between them. Perhaps duty to one's own heart is far more important than to the crown?

Given her age, she could be the eldest child of the king OR one of his sisters.

MORE INFO: henric and his sister were, until recently, the second and third born children of their father, the king. while they were never meant to inherit, henric has always been ambitious and with the aid of his sister concocted a plan that led to henric taking over the throne and bearing the weight of the crown. his place as crown prince, in turn, helps in orchestrating the things his sister wishes. whether she would prefer a specific marriage, to not marry at all, to wield a position of power, he wants to allow her a secured place in court and to live a life however she pleases now that she has helped him mostly achieve his own dream: becoming king. i'd prefer for their relationship to be airtight, the kind where one could not be turned against the other.

is there a specific age ladies should marry or since the world is not as cut and dry about marriage (ie. between a man and a woman) there's no set age? ty!

there’s no set age, tbh. marriage is almost always arranged by the person’s parents/guardians and very rarely does one marry for love. some get married young, others have parents/guardians who bide their time. some even have parents/guardians who won’t consent to a marriage because they can’t afford to (ie dowry, the child brings in finances they do not want to give up), which can be frustrating to a person who wants to start a life away from the watchful gaze of a parent/guardian.

commoners or those with common-blood. if you’re pure aristocrat, which most nobles are in nuvaria, magic has been ruthlessly ‘bred out’ of your family for at least a century now. it is seen as dirty, a curse, and beneath you.

i think no younger than mid 30s would be appropriate since families were usually large in an attempt to secure heirs and ensure the family’s survival.

i didn’t know whether you meant the king’s daughters or sisters/cousins/nieces, so i tried to give you both. the king and his siblings are generally dark-haired. since we received an app for a daughter, it’s now established that his daughters have light hair, red or blonde. these are fcs with historical resources -- if you want to branch out, lemme know!

MORE INFO: Mrs. Venton was formerly betrothed to another gentleman. Demetrius was not supposed to inherit the Venton House; he was his father’s second eldest son. Mrs. Venton’s family wanted a marriage that would move their family higher (I imagine she comes from a minor house) and closer to the crown and court. It was at an event held by House Venton where Demetrius first met and fell for her. She rebuffed him. He continued to pursue her through letters and gifts. It could be because her suitor was much older than she or she found her suitor to be dull and witless, she eventually found herself returning his affections. She eventually confesses she is to marry another. Demetrius is heartbroken, but ever the hotheaded, reckless man that he is, he suggests elopement. That immediately terrifies/horrifies her, of course, because I imagine she’s a proper sort of lady. She refuses and implores him to stop courting her. A couple of weeks pass and, in the dead of night, one of her maids or siblings whispers something about ‘you have to go, you’ll hate yourself if don’t!’ and rushes her to the servants’ entrance, throwing a cape on her shoulders, and carrying a trunk she’ll later discover full of her belongings. Demetrius is waiting for her on horseback, where he reiterates his proposal -- he wanted her to reject him in person.

It’s now been 5 years since they eloped, 2 years since his eldest brother died from a severe fever.
