Funds from this campaign will be used to close the gap between what we currently need and what we have to make the event successful. Some of what is still needed include audio/visual equipment, beverages, snacks, printed materials, tables, chairs and gift bag items that attendees will take with them that reiterates workshops and information provided during the conference. On Feb. 4, 2013, The Henry Ford Museum acknowledged Rosa Parks' 100th birthday with a National Day of Courage. The United States Postal Service also honored her memory with a commemorative Rosa Parks Forever Stamp, during a special First-Day-of-Issue dedication ceremony.

Here are some scenes from my feature film “Head Game.” The production is currently on hiatus due to lack of funds and lack of crew members.

“Head Game” tells the story of Josh, a twenty-something living on his own. After a devastating breakup, he’s feeling quite lonely when out of nowhere, Amanda comes into his life. At first, she seems to be the perfect girl for him, but Josh’s friends think she isn’t everything she says she is… These two scenes show the dynamics with Tammy (Josh’s boss) and Dave’s marriage, and why she was driven into the arms of a younger man. Featuring - Amanda Looney and Scott Huard.

"Visions of our 44th President" is a collection of work complied from 44 prominent Black artists to commemorate the first Black president, President Barack Obama. The exhibit is now open at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History and will run until September 14, 2013.

BLAC attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Madison-Carver Academy and Cornerstone Charter Health High School grand opening. The two schools share a building that features over $8 million in renovations, state-of-the-art technology and an exemplary educational experience.

Camden Murphy, a 13 year old local black swimmer and future Olympic hopeful, visited The Roeper School as a part of their Make-A-Splash program. The program is designed to teach parents and their children the importance of water safety and swim instruction. Less than 1/10 of children from African American and Hispanic families learn to swim.
