How well do you know the men in your life? Powerful stuff from Mark Pollard here.
Shiraz from Australia, in particular the Barossa Valley, is apparently one of the best wines in the world. So I drank 3 litres of it. I also found AC/DC wine here. Best country ever.
Anyway so a while back I read Kris Carr's book 'Crazy Sexy Diet' and I told you I'd let you know how it was going. My overall opinion of it is: You have to read it. It is awesome. It might change you.
If you're like me and you love wine and food and hate insane restrictive diets, then you should give it a go. You'll feel good, you're skin won't be spotty and your jeans won't be jammed onto you on Monday morning.
You're gonna eat loads of veg, salad and fruit and quinao (buzz word right now!) and you can drink wine whoo.
Here are some salads I've been making, mainly before Christmas. Right now, I'm about to get back on the healthy steamboat...in full swing and say bubye to shiraz for a while, at least three weeks. Join me.
Have you heard of this series - The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet? Maybe you have but I only came across it last night on Aus TV.
This episode is about being fearless. If you're in need of some inspiration or girly chit chat about amazing crap, then you should watch it now.
God bless the favourite sex position question.
This episode has Portia de Rossi, Rita Wilson, Lady Gaga and Leslie Bennetts chatting about sex, money, career, family, health, relationships and body image. And guess what? They're honest, ya honest!
I've been on a technical hiatus over the last few weeks cause I've been busy moving to Sydney. This is basically what my life has been all about recently and it's been great.
True. Everything else can be though.
When I saw Robert Sturmans photography I thought it was beautiful, deep and passionate without looking too showy. Then I saw the photos he took in the prison. There is something about these images that have me hooked. It makes you look at these guys in a totally different light, which makes me realise that if they weren't doing yoga I would have judged them very differently. Bad me. So I've seen something really interesting and been reminded about how easy it is to judge. Sturman explains how his photography catches "people aspiring to touch something bigger than themselves." How did he get into photographing yoga? "Yoga offered me an opportunity to change my life, but it was also something that was so beautiful to study, the poetry of asana. It started growing from being able to photograph people on the beach to being invited to a penitentiary with yoga programs to do yoga asana imagery there." Read more of the interview here.
Bendy yoga ambient ads from Y+ Centre. You might have seen these before but they're fun so let's look at them again. Thanks @ohsochelsey
After doing yoga there Paul asked: Did you get your chakra back? Ha, ya I did...got my chakra back good.
Holy crapballs San Francisco airport has a yoga room. Most normal people would be in the bar knocking back the g&t's - start the holiday at the airport, thats what I say. But I suppose you couldn't be there and not give it a go, preferably before the bar. So Kate, next time you're flying home you should go in and tell us what it's like k?
Just cause.
Meditation....am I even doing it right? I dunno, I try at least. The chatter up there is quite hard to switch off. This here is a good little starter on getting to grips with how and what to do. Ok it's kind of annoying to watch, it reminds me of that ridiculously bad Strepsils ad where the guys eye is hovering over his head, ya know it? Well anyway once you get past the slightly annoying animation it's actually quite good. And, ONE minute...that's easy. This here is where you can get the book on One-minute Meditation; Stillness for people on the go.
Came across these yoga ads a while back on Ads of the World. They're created for the Russian Arjuna yoga centre by Voskhod, Yekaterinburg, Russia It's quite refreshing to see a completely different take on yoga advertising. We're so used to seeing a beautiful zenned out yogi on the backdrop of a lotus flower...borrrrring. This bright, fun and more down to earth ad is not boring at all. It works.
I've always wanted to do one these 5K Color Runs and now I can because it's going to be in Sydney in Feb 2013!! I am very happy about this. On a side note, imagine a Color Yoga class...that would be cool.
The Art of Attention: Yoga Practice, is a book created by Elena Brower and Erica Jago. They're both yoga teachers but Brower is also a writer and Jago a designer and artist. I'd like to touch and feel it very soon...Santa?
I bought this cocao husk tea in Peru (in the chocolate museum...yes I said chocolate) mainly because it smells and tastes like you're drinking hot chocolate but without the calories...win win situation all round. But, I was reading The Chalkboard Mag, which you will all love by the way, and came across this. Apparently there is more to this organic cocao husk tea then I thought. Anti-aging you say? Why I'll have another please. I don't know if you can get it at home but if you stumble across it anywhere I recommend it. It also keeps those after dinner chocolate cravings away. Best tea ever.
I've never physically been in any of Dice Iida-Klein's classes but I have done loads of them via the interweb on YogaGlo. I love his style, flow, challenge and his no nonsense approach to his classes. Especially the stripper pose he introduced me to. That's a keeper. If you want to have a good sweat and a major focussed class which will make you forget all the niggly things then you should try one of his. I read here he started his yoga teaching career after working in Lululemon and trying some yoga classes so I feel we should thank them. Thank you @lululemon! Here is his website and Facebook page.
