AI has put us in a situation whereby we are forced to continue running older hardware if we need more ram just in order to allow us to continue to use DDR3 and DDR2 since older ram is considerably more affordable than DDR4 or DDR5.
At the same time Microsoft has killed off windows 10, which the vast majority of these older systems run.
I see a massive uptake in Linux over the next couple of years as IT departments panic over the cost of upgrading hardware and choose instead to simply replace win 10 with the Linux distro of their choice.

the tech-illiterate shackle the tech-litterate, as most often the people in charge belong to the former. we could all be running linux (in a perfect market this would be the natural outcome), but we are for now beholden to george, 58, the guy in charge of [company/foundation/university/insert-anything]
thats the bad news. the good news for us is that george will soon leave the labor force. as long as we can convince the people replacing george that linux is a worthwhile investment, the chances of a linux corporate policy increases massively.
Perhaps it’s time for George to die - for the good of humanity of course
