HOW TO BEGIN AGAIN
we CAN. be KIND.
I always wait to post until I have something to talk about that truly touches my heart. Tonight I found that. Here it goes:
First:
Today I saw a trending topic called #WhatIWantThatICantHave . To me, saying that we “can’t have” something is lowering our expectations for what we believe we deserve, or “can have.” I saw tweets tonight with the hashtag saying things like: “#WhatIWantThatICantHave a healthy-non abusive relationship” “#WhatIWantThatICantHave self love” “#WhatIWantThatICantHave People who care about me” This hurt me. I just wanted to just hug those people and tell them that they CAN have those things. They DESERVE them, and they WILL have them. We can’t tell ourselves that we “can’t”. We need to start telling ourselves, and each other, that we “can”. And we will. Some things take time. Some things hurt. And some things only happen if they’re truly meant to, and they will happen at the the right time.
However, since I couldn’t hug those people, I tweeted this: #IWantWhatICantHave This is a trending hashtag & I’m not a fan. Let’s be thankful for what we have & be positive this 2016 #IWantWhatIHave Also-you deserve everything & more- so if you have a dream or a “want” go out there, work hard & get it. YOU are capable of anything.
After I posted the tweet, I saw an overwhelming response from people using my new hashtag #WhatIWantThatIHave. People listed off the simple and big things that they are thankful for.
I loved how people started writing about positive things. It was so inspiring to me, and made me realize something else: We, as a generation, control what trends on social media. We control what we put out there, and we control what we engage in. I’m hoping that the next time we see something trending that is not positive, we remember that we can change it. We have the tools to reach out to those we may or may not know, and tell them that they are worthy of having all of their dreams and wishes come true. That even though we may not be able to physically reach out and hug them, we are still able to do something about it, and use the internet to inspire, encourage, and spread positivity.
Second-
In the many wonderful tweets that I received, there were also a handful of tweets that took my tweet in a whole other direction. They said things like:
“You are only saying that because you have people who you pay to open your doors for you.”
First off: I can’t tell you how many times I hear this. I started acting at 5, and by age 7 my classmates were asking me when they could come to my “mansion.” My teacher would look at me, and we would share a smile. I wasn’t sure what a mansion was, but I knew I didn’t live in one…. (Spoiler alert: I still don’t. ) I began realizing at an early age, that people assume.
People assume that because I do what I do, the world is 100% perfect for me. Well, can we be real? Nobody’s life is 100% perfect. I get bad news, lots of it. I cry, I hurt, I feel betrayed, I laugh, I smile, I feel loved, I clean dishes, I do chores, I carry suitcases in and out of every hotel, and goodness knows I OPEN DOORS for myself and others… :) I would have mowed the lawn today, but our lawn mower wouldn’t start. lol. I helped Mom take down the Christmas lights, much like many of you are doing. I also need to finish my science report… please remind me. Anyways, my point with all of this is to say that I do feel everything you do, because we are ALL human. :)
Second- Just because you CAN say it, doesn’t mean you SHOULD. Just because you don’t know this person, doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt them. I’ll keep this one simple because I’ve said it in almost all of my posts: Words DO hurt. Please remember that and choose what you say wisely, because once you write it and hit the send button, there’s no taking it back.
Third- I can’t tell you how much I wanted to engage in those tweets. Especially when they brought my mother into it by saying that she was dm’ing them… (You guys- she just learned what twitter even was, so it 100% wasn’t her haha) One thing I’ve learned, is that people with mean intentions want you to engage. It motivates them. So, next time you’re in your room reading a mean tweet, comment, or text, and feeling low remember this:
1- You’re amazing.
2- You are in control of your happiness- not them.
3- You are loved. So very loved, by so many people. Me included.
4- You have the power to turn a situation around for the better.
5- Let’s try to respond back with kindness….. even though it may be hard. Ooo and no subtweeting. I know this one is especially hard ;) ahah
6- And let’s be thankful for everything that happens. Even when we go through hard times.
For example: tonight I picked myself up, and told myself to stop feeling bad for myself and to embrace that there was something positive in this situation & that is: a tumblr post. I actually thank the people that wrote those hurtful tweets because they helped me find the words to write this.
I’ve been repeating those 6 tips to myself all night. They have helped me, and I hope they will help you if there ever comes a time that you need them :)
This is a New Year. A chance to create an entirely new chapter. Let’s write this one together and let it be one full of light, with not even a line of darkness.
If this post touches one heart tonight, than my heart is smiling. Thank you for reading :)
Happy New Year and remeber: we CAN, be KIND, Bailee
This girl is so young and so wise. I wish more people including myself at this age had their heads screwed on as well as this. Keep it up Bailee you are an inspiration even to those almost twice your age. You give me hope that the world isn't completely going down the loo 💕

This is Loki. Loki is cute, young, curious, cheeky, determined to get at bird food and utterly fearless, gormless or oblivious - I'm not sure which. He gets so close to me I could easily pick him up. He is also in my bad books for digging up every single plant pot on my balcony 😠 . . . #countrylife #countrystyle #lifestyle #countrygirl #england #autumn #fall #home #garden #slowliving #livethelittlethings #thatsdarling #chasinglight #seekthesimplicity #birds #nature #love #freedom #squirrel #scrat #loki #wild #wildlife #getoutside #curious #outdoors
I was listening to the arrival of the birds by the @cinematic_orchestra (if you haven't heard it, I'd put it up there with Vaughan Williams level of genius) while I was out for a walk and saw these flying overhead.
