SSM - Chapter 22 - We'll Find Our Harmony

Finally!!!

I am so sorry this took so long. Lots of stuff happening outside of writing but also, the writing was hard. I really wanted to make sure to showcase character growth and hitting the right tone for where they end up for this story.

Next chapter is going to be a finale! I won't promise when, but I hope I'll have it done in a shorter time than this one. xD

"I've accepted where I come from," she tried again, pushing past the discomfort with sharing these thoughts. "I haven't accepted everything about me because I frankly don't understand everything about me. About my past. My mother. My father. Hells, my father is in my life now, somehow. I haven't even begun to wrap my head around that. I'm in a relationship I still don't understand completely. I....I killed someone. I-"

"That's enough, Rumi." Luci interrupted her gently. Rumi was breathing heavily and her words had spilled out towards the end, uncontrolled. She realized what she had just said a moment later and looked up, panicked.

Mira and Zoey both stared at her, surprise and concern mirrored in large brown eyes.

"Don't worry," the therapist continued, unruffled by Rumi's panic. "You are not the first girl I help through their first kill."

Rumi was completely taken out of the panic surging through her. It ebbed and died as she stared at Luci, digesting the words and how casually she had said them.

"Uhm," Zoey was of course the first one to speak up. "Okay, can I-"

"No, Zoey, that information is confidential," Luci chuckled and leaned back. "I wanted to assure you, that nothing you say can phase me."

"I'm part demon," Rumi blurted out.

For the first time, a hint of surprise showed on Luci's features. A raised brow. A small sparkle in the emerald of her eyes.

"I see," the woman said, writing something down in the small notebook on her hands. "And I suppose that is the part of you that you feel you do not understand?"

"Yes, tha-" Rumi interrupted herself, eyebrows raised in confusion. "Wait, you're just going to gloss over this?"

I got bored, and because I think of Polytrix when I’m bored(then again I think about when I’m not bored too. I think something’s wrong with me), I decided to draw brief interactions between each of the girls. Without further ado

Where Darkness Meets Neon Lights: Chapter 3 - Consummation

Little teaser below!

On one of the comfortable visitor benches, situated to the left of the elevator, she spots Zoey.

She is lounging on the comfortable seats, platform boots propped up on the table, her retinal augments active and flashing with activity.

A heartbeat passes in which all Mira can do is stare at her.

Of course she would look even better in person.

She is the spitting image of the advertisement, the slight change in outfit notwithstanding. The glimmer in her eyes vanishes in a heartbeat and the dark brown eyes flick to her. A smile lifts the corners of her lips and a warm swirl of cinnamon lights up the dark color of her eyes when she spots Mira.

She stands up in a swift, fluid motion, walking over with a soft sway in her steps. The short skirt and thigh-high combination under the crop-top, barely covering her breasts, all combine to leave Mira stunned for another beat.

She looks incredible. Warm, inviting and sexy, all at the same time.

She looks so good that Mira almost misses the alert on her retinal display. Increased heartbeat detected in Zoey. And then notices the slightly widened eyes and the minuscule tremor in her lips.

"Mira-nim?"

apologies for the delay in getting this chapter out, I have been very sick over the past two weeks. BUT I am now feeling a lot better! Managed to eat two slices of marmite on toast yesterday which honestly, after living off of crackers, was the best damn thing I ever tasted.
