As for finding the dead stallion, you'd need a unicorn who knows a spell that allows you to see underground, so Twilight might be able to help.

Gingerfrizz: oh, Twilight is that unicorn who’s supposed to help refill the water tower on the farm! I can probably talk to her then and see if she’ll help.

Pinkiepie: I think I can find a pony to help with the digging, the first that come to mind are probably going to want nothing to do with a potential crime scene so I’ll have to see how they react.

This road into ponyville totally changed within hours into a shopping center that has everything from basics that a regular gardener would need to farming stock and supplies. We showed up at the crack of dawn before anything was even set up to get first picks of the best stuff! Granny and Big Mac went ahead to scout out the best path for us and Applejack is giving Applebloom a run down on bartering.

I honestly feel a bit awkward suspecting Granny of murder then going shopping with the whole family…

Applejack mentioned that the water tower on the property will need filling for the season and she’s recruiting the help of a Pegasus named Raindow…. Erm… Rainbow… slash? And a Unicorn named… midnight sparkle? No… twilight sparkle! I think that’s probably close…. She’s definitely mentioned them before I’m just not good with names 😅 way better with faces!

Oh so I got one right! (Wow I’ve never seen a dragon before, I wonder what she’s doing in a place like Ponyville?)

Still only one Pegasus and one unicorn for a job like this! The water tower is huge I hope these ponies know what they’re doing wouldn’t want anypony to get hurt over exerting themselves on a multi pony job. I tried to get them to ask around for more help but they insist it’ll be just fine, guess we’ll see.

Well, you need a pony who is good at digging, being discreet, and keeping a secret when questioned by Applejack. Ask Pinkie Pie if there's anypony who fits that description. Make sure to get her to Pinkie Promise not to tell anyone after that though.

Applejack: “Alright Ginger, me and Apple bloom here are goin to barter for our materials. You can check out around the market but don’t wander off too far. It’s important to be as quick as possible with the cart and loading it before they notice they’re letting their produce go too cheap!”
