gingerpilot prompt, "stay safe" and "who did this?" in which hux was waiting for poe to come back from a mission (this is post tros hux survives ok) only to find him hurt and bleeding. (imagine the look on hux's face!)
Thanks for the prompt! WOO! Hux is always alive and nothing will ever change my mind on that AHAHA
This labeled as Catch and Release. Also on my ao3 here :) My masterlist archive of bullshit i write can be found linked at the top of the blog or here.

Hux pushed his way through the crowd that was gathering, eyes locked on the shuttle that had landed in the hangar bay.
It was the group Poe had taken command of, returned from a mission in which Poe was said to have been captured by a First Order battle cruiser. He had also, purportedly, been rescued, but Hux needed to see him with his own eyes before he allowed his thundering heart to slow. It was enough to keep him outwardly calm to know Poe was alive, but until he could see the man for himself, Hux couldnât help his trepidation.
He got several elbows aimed his way as he moved through the crowd, cursing aimed at him as he jostled right back, but didnât care. He was barely tolerated even after the serious advantages heâd given the Resistanceâ strategic resources, access codes, his own personal mental-catalogue of the First Orderâs few weaknesses- among his own expertise and technological ingenuity. If the Resistance won this war, Hux knew how great a part his own presence would play in it.
But he certainly wasnât doing it all for them anyways.

a quick lil post-tros gingerpilot
âYou couldnât have picked a warmer planet?â
Poe watched as the man on the small bed started and then winced. Â Seeing him, the hard knot in Poeâs stomach begin to unravel. Â It had formed the second Beebee had handed him the decades old tracking device now suddenly lit up with alternating red and blue lights. Â
âTook you bloody long enough.â Clipped and haughty. Â Poe smiled.
âI had a war to win, Armitage.â
âThe First Order was sure to crumble without me. Iâm sure it was an easy victory, Commander.â Sitting up on the bed now and looking at Poe.
âActually, itâs General now.â
âMaker help us.â
âIâm surprised you kept this.â Poe tossing the tracker on the bed next to Huxâs spread fingers. Â Hux stretched one out and rubbed the worn edge. Â
âBeing prepared is the first rule of order. And having a plan.â Â He moved to make room and winced, the hand on the bed moving to press just under his ribs.
âWas getting shot in the chest also part of the plan?â Poe sat down in the vacated space.
âI was prepared for the eventuality, yes.â
âOf course you were,â Poe is quiet a minute. Hux may be prepared but Poe isnât. Not for this.
âOh, so I ran into Zorri.â
âDid you?â Huxâs mouth flattening to a tight line for a moment.
âYeah, on Kijimi.â
âOf course she would frequent that den of hoodlums. Did Zorri Bliss finally let you under her helmet, then?â His face still pinched.
âSheâs still in denial of my obvious appeal.â
Hux snorts and something on his face relaxes just a bit.
âDid you really know? That I was the spy?â
âYesâŠ. maybe.â Hux gives him a look and Poe finally moves a hand over his.
âI hoped it was you.â
