heir-of-solitude:
“Oh, you know what I mean. Besides, I am chill. I haven’t actually tried to kill him yet, have I? Agh, leave that Jacob out of this. He’s still cleaning up a few messes,” he groaned. “So she has the occasional style oversight. Cristina can come cry to me if it really bothers her so much. Either way, stashing it seems like the best choice if you really care about pleasing everyone. You should be fine.” He smiled at that, a small moment of relaxation softening his features. “Thank you. I appreciate it, I really do. Hopefully, you won’t have to be fighting anyone, but who knows how long I’ll be able to hide out. We’ll just have to wait and see.” He caught up with the rest of what she said and grabbed her arm, his expression immediately hardening. “Don’t,” he urged, “I don’t want you anywhere near her. No one should have to deal with her tricks. I know- I know I can’t make you do anything, but you just can’t, Virginia. I don’t trust her.”
“Obviously. But you can’t get mad at me for being honest. Not murdering someone doesn’t mean you’re chill, Evans. You have to relax. Sorry, sorry. Still. I told you so,” she replied, trying not to smile. “I’ll tell her to, next time she complains, and then you can deal with her. Stashing satisfies everyone. It’s a good plan.” She shrugged. “Don’t mention it. It’s what I’m here for, right?” She lifted an eyebrow at his sudden change. “Is she really that bad? You’re making her seem like ... I don’t know, Medusa or something.” She nodded more seriously and continued, “But I won’t go near her if you think it’s a bad idea. At least, not yet.”
