b.a.p.s iconic fashion
during filming, Halle Berry fully committed to the film's exaggerated visual style. she later recalled having to cover herself in talcum powder to squeeze into one of Nisi's iconic orange outfits (def a fan favorite outfit of the film)
one of the biggest reasons B.A.P.S. survived long after it fell short during its box office run is because of its fashion.
the towering hairstyles, gold teeth, extravagant nails, and colorful outfits were mocked by some critics in 1997, but many fans now celebrate them as part of the film's unique aesthetic and cultural legacy.
interesting B.A.P.S. trivia point: in 2023, fans got excited when it was revealed that Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B had been mentioned as potential stars for a modern remake of B.A.P.S. the rumor spread quickly because many fans felt the duo's chemistry in the "WAP" music video resembled the energy of Nisi and Mickey.
however, Cardi B publicly shut down the speculation on social media, saying, "I don't even know where that rumor even came about," and joking that people may have assumed it because she and Megan looked so good in the "WAP" video. as of yet, there's no official announcement of a B.A.P.S. remake starring the two rappers.
house party bts fun facts
many fans assume the house was a set, but the movie's main party location was the real Los Angeles home of Christopher Martin ("Play").
one of the wildest facts: the famous dance battle scenes were shot in silence. the actors and dancers performed to counts and choreography, and the music was added later in post-production. actress/choreographer A.J. Johnson helped create the iconic routines.
Belly, Jeremiah and the summer house
he pays attention to the little things. he remembers when she’s hurting before she even says it out loud. even when his own heart is breaking, he still makes space for hers first. and maybe that’s why he feels so real to me — because sometimes love isn’t grand speeches or impossible chemistry. sometimes it’s just someone who keeps showing up for you over and over again.
Jeremiah loved Belly like she was someone worth protecting even when she didn’t know how to protect herself. and i think that kind of care is rarer than people admit.

wicked - visually stunning
just watched #Wicked for the heck of it with no expectations, and it was so good. so glad I gave it a chance i really loved the storyline, and it's such a beautiful production Ariana was born to play Glinda, or should I say Galinda :-)
thoughts:
Wicked - a dazzling musical spectacle with incredible production design, powerful performances, and enough heart to make even non-musical fans emotionally invested. the friendship between Elphaba and Glinda gives the movie real emotional weight. the chemistry between Elphaba and Glinda keeps the story engaging and heartfelt.
the pacing can drag at times, and because it’s only part one, the story feels incomplete by the end.
overall, Wicked is a magical and entertaining adaptation that’s definitely worth watching.
8/10 ✨ visually stunning and emotionally engaging
pink + white summertime feels
i really hope we get another feel good type of song for the summer there’s something about Pink + White by Frank Ocean that feels like the last perfect evening of august.
like the sun is setting too slowly, everybody’s skin is still warm from being outside all day.
it’s the kind of song that makes you romanticize everything — sitting on somebody’s driveway talking about nothing for hours.
frank ocean really made a song that sounds like remembering summer while you’re still in it.
Janelle Monáe attends the 2026 Met Gala in Christian Siriano
yessss
Anok Yai does not miss
Anok Yai's look at the 2026 Met Gala felt less like a red-carpet moment and more like a moving icon—an embodiment of Mater Dolorosa.
the look reads cinematic in that old-hollywood sci-fi way: as if she’s the moment in the film where beauty becomes power and everyone else in the room realizes they’re not on her level of reality.
and the tears- well.... the tears didn’t read sad, they read cinematic: like diamonds, like emotion turned into something untouchable.
absolutely my favorite look of this year's Met Gala
the Michael movie feels more surreal than I expected.
Jaafar Jackson is so convincing at times it genuinely feels like watching Michael again.
Even though some things were not included, the nostalgia and emotion still land.
9/10 — ⚡ worth experiencing, especially in a theater
hot take: sometimes capturing the feeling matters more than telling the full story.
i'm levitating
“Levitating” by Dua Lipa is the kind of song that doesn’t just play—it activates. suddenly you’re more confident, walking turns into strutting, and any reflective surface becomes a stage. it’s glitter in audio form. it’s disco but make it cosmic.
this song doesn’t ask if you want to dance. it assumes you already are 💫
i saw the Michael movie
really enjoyed this more than I expected
Michael is a nostalgic and surprisingly immersive look at Michael Jackson’s journey, carried by a performance that feels almost unreal at times.
Jaafar Jackson stands out immediately—there are moments where it genuinely feels like you’re watching Michael himself. The supporting cast, including Nia Long and Colman Domingo, adds strong emotional grounding to the story.
The film works best when it focuses on Michael’s desire to create his own path. Watching him push beyond expectations—going solo, redefining his sound, and refusing to be boxed in—feels heartfelt and personal. The MTV moment especially stands out, capturing his determination to make music for everyone.
However, the story feels slightly incomplete at times. Certain parts of his life seem cut short or glossed over, which makes the overall narrative feel a bit uneven despite how engaging it is.
Overall, it’s a very enjoyable and nostalgic experience, especially for fans, and one that’s worth watching—possibly even more than once.
9/10 — ⚡ nostalgic and emotionally engaging ╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴╴
hot take: biopics don’t need to show everything, but skipping too much can make even a powerful story feel incomplete.
