His father died when he was still a child, and his mother struggled for years to care for him before illness took her as well. He raised himself on the streets of Insomnia, taken in by the royal blacksmith he apprenticed under him for years. When the King formed the glaives, many of his fellow Galahdians taking refuge in the city, he took up arms along side them. It didn't last long though, forced out of the field after an injury, he took to being the glaives personal smith.

He caught the cool water bottle and cracked it open. He’d opened his own shirt and tied it into something of a crop top while the other was in that room. He was not working so it wouldn’t be any harm, and it put everything at a rather comfortable point.

“Thank you Direnc,” He said. “anything I could do for you after the day is done? Considering I’ve caused you some trouble.”

He took a drink from his water and grabbed a chair as he spoke. He put it near the door. It didn’t make the situation any cooler, which he imagined is what the blacksmith would assume he was doing. Rather, it let him hear what was going outside. He heard a little bit of crashing around. It seemed Clarus had sent someone to look for him, but fortunately he was in a furnace for the moment.

“Working on anything particular?” He asked conversationally.

╣”Call me Dir,” he said with a small grunt as he brought the hammer down on the metal. It was easy for him to get so lost in what he was doing that he wouldn’t even register that someone was talking to him. But he was all too aware of the man hiding in his forge right now. He was curious what had brought him in, but he wasn’t going to ask yet. He was trying to get a gauge of him first.

“I’ll take you up on the offer to help, you can sweep when I’m done, it’s my least favorite task,” he smirked slightly glancing over at him between strikes, watching him pull the chair towards the door.

“I’m making a new sword for the Prince, he’s long since outgrown the one he’s been training with. He needs a proper sword.” He turned his gaze back to his work, flipping the still glowing metal on the anvil a few times, giving another couple strikes before driving the metal back into the flames. “Why did you come in here?”╠

“If anything, the only thing I don’t like about my job is the number of weapons that are returned to me to be fixed and given to a different soldier after...well,” he grimaced slightly. “...yeah that’s the only thing I don’t like about it.”╠
