A small letter to everyone who writes fanfic,
I believe in you.
You may not think your writing is good. You may not think anyone cares. You may think that because someone else’s fic got hundreds of notes/reviews/kudos and yours only got ten that that must mean you’re a bad writer. I assure you that you’re not.
Someone, somewhere cares about your writing. You’ve made people laugh, smile, and possibly cry at something that you wrote. You pulled words from the air and made them into something beautiful, and someone out there adored it.
Please don’t give up.

Long story short, I’m struggling for some years with depressions and anxiety. I was good for two years, but this year it’s getting worse than ever. Yesterday I had a complete break down (because I had to finish a paper for uni, but nothing that should trigger something like this), I cannot even explain how that felt. Like out of my body in a very bad way, I couldn’t sleep and actually just sat there with having the same thoughts over and over. I felt trapped in my mind and it was so horrible. Today it’s better, but I’m feeling totally exhausted and down and it’s not gone away completely. I’m basically crying the whole day. Do you know what this was?

Hey darling,
I’m glad that you’re feeling better today, that’s good to hear. I understand depression and anxiety because I suffer from both those. I can tell you first hand, that to me, its sounded like you had a panic attack, Panic attacks can be triggered by something such as an event or even a smell. They can also spring upon you like nothing has ever happened. In both those cases, I would suggest speaking to your doctor about what’s going on and how you’re feeling. Share with your doctor examples of how you’re feeling. Let them know about the times and things that are going on around when you’re feeling like you are having a panic attack.
Since you don’t think something triggered you, then I have some thoughts on what could have happened that MIGHT have given you a higher chance of having a panic attack.
Stress. If you’re stressed out for any number of reason, that can make a panic attack more likely to happen to you.
Big events in your past, present or future. Such as funerals, presentations at your school, big test, vacation, sickness etc.
Previous memories that are coming back. Otherwise known as flashbacks. Ask yourself if anything happened in your past that you think might have triggered a panic attack that could be something such as abuse, breakup, not doing very well on a test etc.
Lack of coping. When you’re not using coping skills for things such as panic attacks (I know often times they’re not predictable.) It makes it harder for one to get out of a mindset that they’re not going to be okay or even that the person is in a negative mind. Coping skills help by releasing positive endorphin’s. My fave coping skill is holding my guinea pig Shadow or taking my dog Hana for a long walk.
Whatever your reason that you think you might have had a panic attack, you’re worthy of getting help. Nothing sucks worse that suffering in silence. Please reach out for some help. It will get better, but YOU have to allow it to get better :)
