Star Wars Movie Review

As the enthusiasm practically radiates from fans who've patiently awaited the new Star Wars film. Episode 8: that is decisively named The Last Jedi, returns to the big screen with such anticipation that one can only wonder how the storyline and the box office will do as they to try to come over the major success of the last film, The Force Awakens.

Coming from a viewer who has already seen the film. It is safe to say, at the high and hopeful expectations have been, to say the least and not to exaggerate its delivery. However, The Last Jedi can be considered the one of the best Star Wars film made so far. With so many questions from fans being answered in the film and, for months have been constantly in question. Some include Rey origins and parents (Daisy Ridley) which many speculate as Rey somehow being Luke’s daughter. Another being Luke's place surrounding his conflicting feelings toward helping the resistance in the war against the First Order and Kylo Ren and his personal feelings and objections toward that one sentence everyone has been waiting to be explained since its appearance in the teaser trailer a few months ago “It’s time for the Jedi to end.” And finally, how will this film impact not only the development of next film but the next sequence of films that Disney and Lucasfilm intend and have announced that they will be employing in the years to come. Especially after the passing of legend Carrie Fisher, Princess (General) Leia Organa, whose role in The Last Jedi makes for a not only powerful and hopeful performance but a perfect ending to Fisher’s character as well as her never fading memory and contribution in cinema and acting.

With The Last Jedi calculating massive amounts of viewership tonight with many theaters expecting a huge turnout. The film itself is expected to make, not as much as The Force Awakens, which grossed 2 billion dollars in 2015 making it the Highest Grossing Film of All Time passing James Camren's Avatar (2009) for the top spot at no.1. Many estimate The Last Jedi will make 200 million as a result from the outpouring presence of fans during the films Thursday night 'pre-show'. Which in and of itself broke weekly box office records at an astounding, yet, very foreseeable 45 million in the one night.

Only time will tell how The Last Jedi's opening weekend will turn out, but it will be no surprise that audiences of the fanbase will surely be in attendance thanks to the hype and curiosity surrounding the continuation of the storyline and its characters. There are, however, a few twists and turns that will be highly applauded to those who don't see it coming. That being said, my only guidance to consult you, the audience, is to see the film with your own eyes. So grab the keys to your Millennium Falcon's and head over to the movie theatre before a spoiler teases you to the dark side!
