i also have a take on Alicent’s favorite child. while we’re all making fun of Aegon and Aemond whining about the other being her favorite, and in reality she just wants to save Helena — I also think that she tried. She tried to love them, she tried to choose each one of them. She was favoring Aegon, but she was tired of his behavior; then she switched to Aemond, until he scared her away with Luke’s death. And so she had no one left but Helena to try to love — and I wonder, if Helena’s action will also push her away?
