Sanders Sides as labubus

this is just for fun, I know very little about these things, but I did some research and here's what I found:

Logan - Flip With Me

originally, I wanted to assign him a more astronaut/robotic themed one, but then I found this little guy with glasses and stars in his eyes! all he needs is a tie, and he's perfect

Roman - Twinkly Fairy Tale

I was torn between going for a more knight/warrior-like variant, or a pretty fancy doll, and I went with the latter - look at this beauty! the pearls, the sparkles... this thing just SCREAMS Roman to me

Patton - Fall in Wild

there are many adorable labubus that remind me of Patton, but this one wears almost the exact same outfit as the casual Patton look that Thomas posted a couple years ago, and it has pretty blue eyes on top of that!

while it was tempting to go with one of the many monster themed labubus (skeleton, bat, you name it), this musician boi also reminds me a lot of Virgil! it was hard to find a photo that both showed off the thunderbolt and the cool sunglasses, but this should do

I wanted something jester/clown themed for Remus! there were many options, but this little buddy with a green fur hat was just too cute to resist

the fact that my sister got this doll for her 14th birthday was actually what inspired me to make this in the first place, because it reminded me so much of Thomas Sanders!

couldn't find any coffee themed labubus, but there is a whole series of cola themes ones, so that had to do - and of course I picked the one with the sunglasses!

Emile - Candy Floss

I was very unsure on what direction to take our therapist in - should I go with something cartoon related? should I try to find a more dark academia themed doll? but this one with the candy floss ended up speaking to me the most

Orange - Happy Halloween

until we find out more information about the orange side, we have to make do with what we do know: he's orange, and probably a dark side - so halloween labubu it is

whether King Creativity is a canon entity or not, this doll reminds me a lot of all the fanon designs for him!

My take on previous designs for Janus and Remus

Watching the flashbacks to early 20's core four sides made me wonder what Janus and Remus may have looked like, both in Thomas' early 20's and in his late 20's (which would be during season 1, before they got introduced to the audience)

I do like to think they both got a makeover around the same time as the others did! Idk if the context would have been the same (hair color change ig?) or if something else happened... that's for you to decide

We brainstormed a bit about it in a recent patreon livestream for fun, but I am a very visual person, so I wanted to draw! Let me explain my designs under the cut:

Early 20's Janus:

name would have probably been Lies or something

in the stream, there was a lot of talk about a detective/Eddie Valiant ish look, so that's what I went with - a trench coat and a fedora!

like younger Virgil, he has less color, and more browns and greyscales

no gloves... yet

less prominent snake features - no slit eye (though it's still yellow), fewer and lighter scales, lighter eye socket thingy (I didn't decide if he would have a left eyebrow or not, so that part is conveniently covered lol)

often covers part of his face... is it to appear mysterious, or because he's secretly insecure about his snake features? who knows

Late 20's Janus

goes by Deceit now

moving from detective look to victorian gentleman

now wears a bowler hat

snake features have evolved, though they are still a bit less prominent than present Janus

shirt/coat/??? looks closer to what he currently wears, though the clasps are smaller and silver, rather than large and yellow

also no logo (yet)

now wears gloves, but they're white, not yellow (the change of color is why Virgil compared them to dishwasher gloves btw)

capelet! but a slightly simpler design

bootlets instead of dress shoes (ik that canonically, Janus probably wears dress shows today, but I prefer boots or bootlets, sue me)

Early 20's Remus

many headcanon his name as having been Bad Vision or Evil Vision, which I like! would also be funny if it was Noisiv (Vision backwards)

he would likely look somewhat close to Roman/Vision, and many in the chat mentioned pirate themed outfit, so that's what I went with - Roman's adventurer/D&D inspired outfit but with some pirate features (ripped pants, cool belt, eyeliner)

no silver hair stripe... yet

as was suggested in the chat, a painted on mustache, which was trendy in the early 2010's (aka during Thomas' early 20's)

you can't tell from his design, but he unironically says #YOLO all the time

Late 20's Remus

now a duke!

has achieved his silver stripe and purple/indigo eye shadow

mustache is real, but a bit patchy, since Thomas unfortunately did not have the best facial hair growth

shirt is basically Roman's season 1 shirt but recolored

like his shirt, his bottom part (pants, stockings, shoes) are more 18th-19th century nobility inspired

the more tudor inspired big sleeves and shorts are a choice he makes to distinguish himself from Roman (as is the eyeball, of course)

My most favorite quote is actually one that is not available to the public yet, so I had to pick my second favorite, which is this conversation from Heartstopper season 2 episode 7 ("Sorry").

I have never been able to understand parents who straight up ignore their children. While I am not a parent myself, I do have a close relationship with most of my family, and I simply can not imagine treating any of them the way that Stephane treated his children. All children deserve unconditional love.

Ok so this was super difficult to narrow down, since there are so many great artists on this site alone, let alone in the entire osemanverse fandom

That being said, recent IWBFT art drawn by kindaorangey does have a soft spot in my heart rn. They're arguably one of the more well known IWBFT artists on this site atm, and rightfully so. They not only have a beautiful art style, they also come up with a lot of creative concepts and funny comics. I doubt anyone reading this will NOT know of them, but in case you don't: check them out, you will not be disappointed!

Osemanverse advent calendar 2025 - day 22: favorite fic/author: Key To My Heart by AO3 user KitSaidOui

So I might be biased because I'm Nordic and used to have a hyperfixation on vikings when I was like 10, sue me.

Anyway: I read this fic a couple years ago, and it has been my favorite Heartstopper fic ever since. Apparently, the author deleted it for a while because of desires to rewrite it, but ended up reuploading it because so many people loved it (rightfully so).

The frame narrative is about Charlie as an archeologist examining the grave of two male skeletons from around the 10th century, whom all other historians insist must have been anything but a couple. But Charlie disagrees and comes up with a whole story about how they could have been lovers, even in Medieval England.

In his story, he imagines himself as an Anglo-Saxon monk and Nick as a viking who originally came to Charlie's monastery to raid it, but over the story, they fall in love. Both deal with cultural, religious, and internalized homophobia, but decide that their love for each other outweighs Christian purity culture and viking toxic masculinity.

I love historical AU's, because they teach you history while also being entertaining. This story in particular addresses both the heteronormativity in some historian circles and the medieval bigotry that many people today seem to ignore and/or romanticize. The way this story managed to mix historical values and culture with the very 21st century Heartstopper is incredible, and though the story has its dark elements (e.g. period typical violence and discrimination), it also has many wholesome moments.

The fic is rated M, but as the author notes, does border on an E-rating sometimes (imo the reason it gets away with an M-rating is because the explicit stuff is wrapped up in historical euphemisms :p ) and, like I said, it does get rather dark and violent sometimes, so it's not for everyone. But I loved it.
