I’m so excited to share these little cuties I made recently!

This past week I had the honour of testing out Takda_knots new “Black Dragon” amigurumi pattern! I had so much fun making these guys and I’m definitely going to make more in the future! They’re just too cute!

I think this is the first amigurumi I’ve completed that isn’t a Wooble kit or used a Wooble pattern and I’m really proud of her!

I recently bought @crochetedbyrikki’s Creepy Creatures and Cryptid crochet book and had to make a little Nessie first, especially since I also picked up this pretty ombré yarn. This pattern was a lot of fun, the only thing I had to remake was the head but that’s just because the start of the yarn was super dark compared so the original head looked really out of place (to me) compared to the rest of the body which ended up being made with the lighter section of the yarn. I’m really proud of her regardless! I’m excited to try out the other patterns I have tabbed in the book.

Time for coasters! I have a ton of these tiles left over from some past projects that I’ve been trying to figure out what to make with them, i figured since I had enough for three coaster sets I’d make coasters!

This set, plus the next two sets I’m working on, are all inspired by a faceted vase I made in February where each face was a painted in this brush stroke layer look. Each set is inspired by one of the colour schemes with the darkest shade of whatever colour I used mimicking the dark blue outline of the vase. This is the green set and was painted with Mayco Stroke and Coat wonderglazes with the Amaco mixing clear as a top coat (I didn’t have a regular top coat at the time 😅). I think the mixing clear is what caused the funky bubble look but I think it looks really cool regardless!

I even added a square of adhesive cork on the back to protect your table/counter from the coaster, it lifts high enough that the edges don’t touch the surface underneath.

Telegonus; son of Circe and second prince of Ithaca

It’s Telegonus time! The original 1/2 body pose ref is by @mellon_soup! All information is under the cut 💕

Side note: This version of Telegonus is simply for fun for a silly au I have in my head! Given how little we know of him I did take creative liberties with his lore/character 💕

To start with, my personal au thing I have in my head doesn’t follow the Telegony perfectly. I imagine everything is roughly the same except Odysseus does di3 at the end (this is more comedy than tragedy ngl). Telegonus is the only son of Circe and Odysseus, fathered during the year Ody and his crew were on her island. Circe didn’t realise she was pregnant until after Ody left so he didn’t realise he had another son until years later. Because of this, I imagine Telegonus heard stories about Ody but Circe never really told her son what his father looked like for one reason or another. That’s what caused the “incident” once the two finally met decades later; neither one recognises the other.

I imagine growing up on Circe’s island, Telegonus had developed a deep respect for women. I mean he spent his childhood around his mother and her nymphs, I can’t imagine he would be disrespectful towards women. Telegonus is very much a mama’s boy (not in the toxic way) and immediately shows respect to Penelope when he comes to live in Ithaca. He would eventually come to see Penelope as a second mother and he loves her very dearly. As for his relationship with Odysseus, i imagine it’s a bit more tense and slow going. Not only does Ody have to cope with the fact that he had a child with Circe, he’s now also grappling with the fact that he wasn’t there for ANOTHER son, whether he meant to or not. I don’t think he dislikes Telegonus or anything, they’re just sort of awkwardly navigating the situation as best they can. I feel seeing how well Telemachus & Penelope get along with Telegonus probably helps some of the tension not being so suffocating. Of all his half-siblings, Telemachus is probably Telegonus’ favorite lol. I imagine Telegonus takes after Circe the most, particularly in appearance, though he does take after Ody as well. He’s the most mischievous and playful of his siblings, having taken after Ody’s more mischievous side & always knows how to lighten the mood.

As for design, my main inspiration was the sun and lions! I adore lion inspired Circe designs, given she’s often depicted with them, so I tried to include that motive with Telegonus. He has big fluffy hair, more cat shaped eyes, and his nose was even loosely inspired by the shape of a lions. I also tried to tie in the sun and his familial relationship with Helios in his design. Compared to Ithaca’s royal family who wears cooler tones, Telegonus has a warmer palette. He wears bright gold adornments decorated with subtle sun motifs, his clothes are warmer tones, and even his skin and hair are warmer compared to his siblings. He has warm golden eyes, and to tie in with my other demigod OCs, he has a pink ring in his eyes inspired by a sunrise! I also like the idea that his eyes kind of glow in the dark and that he walks super quietly like a cat. Telegonus has definitely scared Ody and the servants in the middle of the night on accident 😅

I have this faceted vase I’m working on where each section is the same style of layered brush strokes just in different colours. I can’t decide if I want to outline each section in a dark blue/black or just leave it. What do yall think?

Nausicaä; Princess of Ithaca ✨

I’m finally getting around to making my Odysseus kiddo ref sheets and we’re starting with Nausicaä! Hopefully this will get me to finish Nausithous and Nausinous‘ designs 😅 To make things easier on me, I’m turning the original 1/2 body shots I did originally for this set of OC’s and just making them full body shots. The original 1/2 body pose ref is by @mellon_soup!

Without further ado; here is Nausicaä, Princess of Ithaca and only daughter of Odysseus and Penelope. She was born following Ody’s return to Ithaca and the disposal of the suitors. She’s the elder twin sister to Poliporthes and is known to be the “voice of reason” for her brothers. She’s known for having a mix of her parent’s personalities, with her having Penelope’s wit and Odysseus’ cunning making her a force to be reckoned with. While she may be the voice of reason in most cases, she is known for being a mischievous girl who does enjoy a good prank/joke as long as it’s harmless. She has a fondness for things like music and poetry, making her a perfect match for my poet oc Iphimedeia. However, she is far from a damsel in distress type, you can’t convince me that Odysseus wouldn’t teach his daughter how to use at least a bow and arrow. With that in mind you also can’t convince me that Odysseus wouldn’t teach wouldn’t be a girl dad! Nausicaä could absolutely get this man to do anything she wants, change my mind 😤

I like to imagine Nausicaä gets along well with her full and half siblings. She’s grown up with them all in my au so it’s not like a sibling came out of no where. I also imagine the older boys (particularly Telemachus and Nausinous) being rather protective of their only sister. I do imagine that with so many siblings, there is a healthy amount of sibling rivalry and conflict from time to time but it’s nothing too concerning.

It’s time for Pyrrha!

The way this is my first ever character ref sheet for Pyrrha even though she’s one of my oldest Greek mythology oc’s 😭

To preface, Pyrrha started out as a Percy Jackson oc way back in middle school and she was one of the few “Mary Sue” esc characters that I allowed myself to have. I don’t feel like typing out all of her lore again so here’s the link to another post I made with Pyrrha’s lore info. What I will mention is that the dark blue is the secondary eye colour that won my recent Tumblr poll! The pose I used as reference was from The Pose Archives.

I’ve been working on a ref sheet for one of my oldest OC’s (and the one who’s had the most evolution since her creation) and I’ve hit a road block.

Recently I’ve been giving my demigod OC’s this little secondary colour ring around their iris’ to show their demigod status (kind of like how I give nymph characters pointed ears). This was born from Alcaeus, my son of Hermes oc, because I liked the two toned eyes Blood of Zeus’ Hermes has and it’s grown from there. I’ve been trying to keep the 2nd colour somewhat tied to the characters demigod origina; Alcaeus has teal eyes with a purple ring mostly because of BoZ Hermes (they share eye colours). My design for Telegonus has gold eyes with a pink ring as a nod to Helios being his grandfather (lots of sun based elements).

Pyrrha is a child of Hades and I can’t quite decide on a colour for Pyrrha that works with her base eye colour and that fits with her demigod origins. I came up with a couple ideas, mostly purples and greys since i associate those colours with the underworld, but I’m open to suggestions!

What colour ring should I give Pyrrha?

Hello! I have a question for yall! I’m currently working on a set of Arcane inspired pieces based off Ekko and Jinx’s graffiti! Right now I have a sushi platter, vase, and tea cup/saucer but I recently found this butterfly tea light holder at work. I think it would be a fun addition but I don’t want to paint this one exactly like the other pieces.

I was thinking of basing it loosely off the butterfly from the show but I’m terrible at making decisions and can’t pick between the Piltover one or the one Jinx painted. So I come to tumbler to make the choice for me! I know it won’t be a perfect match but I think it’ll be a cute addition.

Which butterfly should I base this tea light holder off of?

I have this broken sushi platter I snagged from work and I’m painting it similarly to my EkkoJinx wallpaper I made! My glaze colours aren’t going to be 100% accurate but they’re close enough to what I used in the og wallpaper, I think it’ll look cool either way! I just have to do the blue and purple sections for Jinx and a couple lighter areas for Ekko 💕

Got bored this morning and made a Jinx and Ekko graffiti wallpaper!

I’m hoping that the text i pulled from Ekko’s jacket is accurate, I had a little trouble finding a clear image of the text, particularly the bit that’s under the KO that looked like it was in Korean (?). I tried to be as accurate as possible, even going back to adjust that text spot, buy please let me know if adjustments need to be made! I want to be as accurate as I can and adjustments really aren’t that hard to make on something like this. Im more than happy to go back and fix things 💕💕

Offical Alcaeus ref sheet!!

Not sure if anyone remembers the one off Valentine’s Day post I made with Alcaeus, but I finally made him a proper reference sheet! All the info and extra images are below the cut!

Alcaeus is a demigod; his father is Hermes and his mother was a mortal woman from Thebes named Ophelia. When Alcaeus was young his mother died (cause to be determined) and in an attempt to protect his son, Hermes took little Alcaeus to Ambrosia’s garden (Ambrosia is an oc I often ship w/Hermes for those who don’t know her). Ever the kind hearted goddess, Ambrosia took in Alcaeus and has been caring for him ever since. Alcaeus is pretty happy with the set up mainly because he gets to chill out most of the day. I imagine as a kid he was a fair bit paler than he is now, he just got a really good tan from being outside all day gardening lol. I have this hc that since ambrosia/nectar is what causes ichor to be gold (in some telling) that it could change other physical traits as well. Alcaeus’s little gold streaks in his hair are caused by being around the stuff so much, in theory at some point his hair will be completely gold.

I used this ref sheet as an opportunity to change up Alcaeus’ design a little bit, mostly with his outfit. His original outfit was more similar to my older Telemachus design but while I was looking at Greek vase art for inspiration I was drawn to this sort of skirt styled outfit. I wanted to keep his iconic (to me at least) purple element so I made the top bit of fabric purple, I imagine it’s like a thick sash or something. I also gave him more accessories just for funsies.

Also, fun fact, the design on the kylix he’s holding is actually a design I came up with inspired by Ambrosia and her garden! It was for a Greek pottery art exhibition I was part of in March, I thought it would be a fun Easter egg to add in! The concept for the tile is that, since Ambrosia’s garden is meant to be a secret place, its entrance is guarded by a sphinx who stops most unsuspecting mortals from entering.

Odysseus and Ctimene

I couldn’t get the idea of Odysseus being forced to tell Ctimene, his sister and wife to Eurylochus, that her husband was never coming home after his journey. This started as a traditional sketch to start off a new sketchbook but i decided to do a digital version as well.

While I was working I kind of realised there was both a happy and sad interpretation to it; either Ody is reuniting with his sister or he’s having to console her. So, I tried out a lighting/shading tutorial I saw on tiktok to give off both vibes.

I’ve included both versions with and without the shading so y’all can see the differences. Also played around with backgrounds & I’m vibing with the gouache brushes.

Since I like the idea that Telemachus and Odysseus look very similar, Ody pretty much looks like my older Telemachus just with lighter hair and a fuller beard. When I designed Ctimene I was referencing a statue of Leda my local museum has for her hairstyle. I like colour motifs so to show her familial relationship to Ody her hair tie is blue, but her dress is a magenta/red to symbolise her marriage if Eurylochus. Her shawl would be like a funeral shawl and ngl I was very drawn to Alma’s colour palette from Encanto 🫣

First of all I’m so glad that people seem to like my Odysseus and Ctimene piece! I’ve been getting quite a few notes on it the past few days so that you all!

Secondly, I love how it’s through the reblogs have realised that the set up of the images make a certain interpretation for most lol. I didn’t even think that putting the two versions of the image right next to each other like I did would make it seem like they were hugging all day but ngl I love that interpretation 🤧 It wasn’t my intention but it fits so I’m not gonna argue.

So, as the tags from this recent reblog I got say; the deeper meaning of the piece is up to interpretation 😌

Everyone meet my bby Iphimedeia!

Iphimedeia was originally based off of a character ai chat I’ve messing around with using Nausicaä as my “persona” character. Most of the base characteristics for Iphimedeia align with the original c.ai base chat but the rest is based off of my current chat’s “lore” so to speak. The base chat describes Iphimedeia as a poet from the island of Lesbos who often writes wlw poems. She’s also described as mature, sociable, a good listener, and creative which for the most part is true with my Deia.

Some of the differences between the two versions are that my Iphimedeia is a lot more shy and soft spoken. She is considered “mature” when compared to Nausicaä’s more mischievous personality and while Iphimedeia can be sociable at times she usually doesn’t initiate conversation with strangers. She will talk your ear off if you become close with her, though. Another difference is that Iphimedeia was originally from Lesbos, however, she currently lives in Ithaca (I haven’t decided why yet 😅). Most of her poems are sapphic in nature, though on the rare occasion they aren’t, they’re usually about Lesbos. Deia is a romantic even if she gets flustered easily. She loves listening to Nausicaä tell stories about Odysseus and Penelope’s relationship because she sees it as very romantic. I also like to think that Iphimedeia is the type to see herself as very average looking (or even unattractive if her insecurities are getting bad) but she’s really very pretty. She’s just a little insecure about herself but we love her anyway 💕

I was messing around with this on character ai chat (it’s the Ancient Sapphic Poet chat) just for funsies with Nausicaä…this chat has fueled me to give Nausicaä a girlfriend 🫣

Here’s a little sketch of the girlies💕 I’m thinking about changing Nausicaä’s hair to one large bun instead of the triple buns I had originally given her for the sake of readability. I’m also going to fix the hand later 😅

I just think it’s important for everyone to know that, while Nausicaä takes after Penelope the most, she is 100% Odysseus when it comes to her partner. This woman would probably burn down the island for her partner ngl 💀 Call her a simp, she won’t deny it.
